Kinda joking of course. Kinda. By now we all figured out the pp system has been inverted. This is especially true when my 454 won almost every race it raced. As much as I hated seeing CSL, Evora, NSX, etc. win every race. I am kinda bummed out they are not even on the map anymore as far as competitiveness. Even though I hate those cars more then I hate terrorist.

Seems like so far that the US cars got the most benefit from this change. Almost every one I tried was a front runner. I know the RUF 3400S is very hard to beat too.

Anyone else (despite whatever your opinion is on 2.10) enjoying trying out different cars? With any success? Or do you just hate it so much GT5 is now unplayable?

I really believe people are sensitive torwards the "muscle" resurgence because the cars, for lack of a better term sucked for so long.

They are far from unbeatable though as some folks in a RUF 3400 and 370Z proved that to me.

Regardless of what some believe, I see 2.10 as only the beginning of what's to come.

Sensitive towards muscle cars? Awww, that's too bad. lol. Not all of them sucked. I could usually hold my own with the Mach 1 & Z28 prior to 2.10.

Corvette C5 and the Callaway C12 also come to mind.

I'm not a fan of the changes. Things simply aren't competitive anymore. As the only saying goes, any idiot can go fast in a straight line and the high horsepower cars have so much grunt that the theory of catching them in corners is not holding water. You really just have to hope someone spins off.

I still play because I love the racing, but things seem a little tainted now. It's a wholesale migration to muscle rather than adding more depth of choice, which would have been very welcomed.

I used the words sensitive because it seems that everyone is "catching" a cold when it comes to the FR machines.

You know, when a friend gets a new car, you can't help but notice the same car everywhere.

On the contrary, seems to be a lot of cars that have a potential of being fast. They're not just the same cars as they've always been. This update also, for the first time, gives the more beefy cars a fair chance if winning. There used to be no point in driving those...

Besides, lighter and more agile cars (and cars with downforce) have a clear benefit when running in a lobby with power limitation, so the beefier cars having an edge in pp-limited lobbies seems pretty fair to me.

I've definitely enjoyed what the PP system overhaul has done to the Muscle cars. Chevelle, Lemans GTO, Grand Sport, Super Bee...and I'm sure others got some nice increases in allowed HP per PP to make up for their lesser handling. Couldn't be happier, myself. All the time I've spent previously trying to tune more speed into those cars in the 500pp Street Only rooms has finally paid off. :D

Yea, any idiot can go fast in a straight line, but braking & turning a muscle car isn't as easy as it sounds. I haven't noticed a "wholesale migration" to the muscle cars since the change. I think "depth of choice" has got a lot larger. Yes, we lost several cars that should still be competitive, but I think we gained more. Almost every car in my garage now is capable of winning. Before, only a small handful.

I haven't even thought about the bee, Lemans GTO (new GTO works great). And someone mentioned the C12 earlier I think is worth checking out. I ran so many different cars the last couple days (almost every race was a different car) and has been great. Then my PS3 threw a rod again (YLOD).

I don't think the new PP system favors muscle cars specifically, it just gives a PP boost to all cars with the FR powertrain configuration. Depending on the car, this PP boost may be slight or it may be totally ridiculous. My own experience, I noticed that the cars falling into any given PP range seem a lot spicier (faster & funner) than they were before 2.10, but then again I heavily prefer FR & MR cars to anything else so this statement of my experience must be taken with a grain of salt -- I really cannot say how the new PP system affects AWD, FF or RR cars.

Other than the Ruf 3400S, I think AWD, FF, MR and RR are unaffected.

...and that's exactly the problem of the edited system, you can't just boost cars depending on their drivetrain and leave everything (or almost everything) else like it was before.

But all this has been discussed a lot in other threads anyway.

You have to understand you and I are rare when it came to driving 69 z28, 97 z28 and being competitive in our online lobby at 500pp before 2.10. Most folks who joined if they decided to use these cars didn't have much a shot against the try hard cars.

There was a reason why I had to institute a flat out ban on MR cars and standard M3 at 500pp before 2.10. Tough luck for the racers who wanted to use MR cars that weren't a type R NSX or Evora. Racing in a full room with 16 people with 14 of them using a standard M3, type R NSX, Evora wasn't fun for me. It was great when PD patched in drivetrain options.

I thought online races would be about tuning favorite cars, then using these cars online. Instead it was people just using the best cars available.

No pity from me that the old try hard cars were nerfed for bandwagon racers.

I agree. :)

I feel like it's only a matter of time before the new "jackass" car is discovered and everyone will start using it. Or until PD "fixes" the "pp fix", and jumbles everything up again.

they should just have 1030 darts, each labelled with a different car name in the game and throw them at a dart board with PP ratings. do this every two weeks and rejumble with every seasonal update.

the system would work no worse that what we have post 2.10. who's with me? :D

Even if you ignore the MR, FF and 4WD cars vs. FR cars, the PP system is still broken for just FR cars. Only some FRs got downgraded.

Prior to 2.10, the Challenger, Camaro and C5 and C6 Vettes all would have been *somewhat* competitive with each other at the same PP. Now, the Challenger and C5 Vette will obliterate the other two. It makes no sense at all.

My Aussie muscle cars are a since to leave everything in the dust. 815hp@523pp in the 5.7 GTO( sold it recently) was a no-brainer!

I just easily won a 600pp race at Monza in the Challenger TC with 564pp against Weiders, Yellow Hats etc. Same car used to be 625pp. I also have a Camaro SS RM currently on about 617pp from memory, down from 629pp. These two cars were within 0.2 seconds on most tracks with the 625 to 629 pp. Now if I balance the Camaro pp with the Challenger pp the Camaro has about 450hp. The Challenger hp? 718. Sure is broken for FR.

The Saleen S7 lost some PP too. It didn't need that too since it was somewhere middle of the 550 PP pack before.
