750PP races

Evening all.

Tried several 700-745PP cars to complete a lap of the Nurburgring and to no avail, they just seem to be slightly off the pace on the back straight, added to my hatred of an 8 min lap and general shoddiness on that circuits and I'm struggling.

Any ideas/cars/setup options I should be thinking about?
 
4wd is your friend :), Have you tried an R35 TC if you have one that is :).

2J should monster it, if you havnt got one i can put one up for share if you like. As the other guy said the R35 TC should do it but it would be even easier with a 2J.
 
You may want to try something a little slower uintil you really learn the track, mid 5 or 600pp GT cars handle really well. I would not start with a 2J, if you get used to that much grip you will have a hard time adjusting to anything else. Just my opinion, for what it is worth.

You need to learn the track as it is much more difficult in faster cars. I'm sure that the more you drive it, the more you'll love it:)
 
Might I add, do all the AMG challenges. They really helped me learn the track. I'm not afraid to go fast on it now because I know exactly where to slow down and when I can floor it after doing them.
 
Thanks guys. All really useful ideas.

Did the track about 5 laps in the ford GT to learn it abit more and went back to the eve in the 92' 905, won by 8 seconds in the end.

Like you say it's getting used to the break points and knowing where you can get away with taking things a gear higher or just throttling back without breaking.

I am starting to like it now, that's for sure, however we'll see if I like it after the 24hr endurance event that I'll start in afew weeks time when I get to the level for it.

If you buy the DLC cars, there is a Jaguar XJR-9 for one of them (not sure if you can win this car either). But you put the biggest turbo on it that's available, and do an oil change and it gives you a car with 940hp. It'll take down those races with incredible ease. You just have to know the track.
 
Keep learning the track. Nurburg is one of the best tracks ever once you really get it down. It's a lot of fun.

I intend to. That race was good fun in the 905 alone so can't wait till I do the 24hr race now.

As for the car for that I don't know what I'll use yet but still looking forward to it when I've had some more practice.
 
I'm glad you posted this. It reminds me that my wife and kids will be gone for a week so that will be a good time for me to do those 24hr races. And if you want to borrow a car just send me an invite.
 
i did this one with the pescarolo not the fastest but handles like a dream, and on the ring, handling is better than outright speed. you need to beat them in the corners not on the straights.
 
Use a detuned Formula GT (480hp) with maxed out weight and zero downforce. It's very easy. :)
 
You have tons of good cars, I used a Toyota 7 in Racing Soft and top speed 390kmh.

Easy win! :)
