787B Racing Rain Tires Suck :-(

Anyone notice how poor the racing rain tires are for this car? Running the 787B at the DCC event (on Nurburgring) using these tires IMO show very little difference to the Inters... Why is that? The rear end gets just as loose on either set.

:grumpy:I have noticed that on the Toyota Minolta as well. I usually do rather well on the dream car championship races unless it rains. The green hell is hard enough and even harder in the rain. :grumpy:

Racing slicks, at least softs, give better grip in the rain.

Heck yeah! It is hard enough running the 787B on Nurburgring when it's dry! Add rain.., a wet track.., and very poor racing rain tires and it's a freakin nightmare.

bottom line is wet traction is significantly less than dry so no rain tire is going to contain the fury 800-1000+hp can unleash. I prefer the Sauber for wet because the power builds more predictably...the Minolta is great because of monster torque but that makes rain a real problem, I dont have the 787 but I'd guess the rotary doesnt make big torque numbers but either way 800+ ponies are going to require throttle management and one thing I find helps a LOT is to short shift and run a gear higher than norm...

Just noticed this exact thing at Monza. I just quit as it wasn't even worth the trouble since I was just practicing for Le Mans anyway.

Disappointing car, really. Other cars are just better, for me anyway.

Are you sure? I think racing rain gives better grip in heavy rain
In A-Spec races the tracks' grip level is set to low by default. So you end up with racing softs having awesome grip in the rain.

I haven't tried it but that's what people here have said.

Positive. As someone said below the grip reduction is set to low in A-Spec by default. I think you may be able to change it in driving options but I'm not sure.

If you go into practice and set it to "realistic" rain tires will definitely be better.

edit: I guess not "positive" as I haven't done any testing to see the maximum Gs or anything, but I can lap faster with slicks.
