7th gear?????????

when u goto change ratios theres a space for a 7th gear what car has it???????

I don't think one does. I do remember, however, that there were a few cars in GT1 that had 7 gears, and I hear there are some cars (or at least 1) in GT Concept that have 7 gears. What does this have to do with GT3? I don't know, but maybe the Diablo or other hidden cars have seven gears??

Exactly - the Diablo was the only vehicle to have 7 gears, and since we (NTSC) didn't get the Diablo, we end up with the mysterious left-over gear.

Don't some Formula 1 cars (real life ones that is) have 7 gears? I'm sure I've seen some racing cars that do.

Yes, they do. However, the newest F1 car in the game is the Polyphony001/f094s (according to whether you have PAL/NTSC), and these are the 1994 Benetton as driven by M. Schumacher.

I believe that the first F1 team to use a 7-speed gearbox was in fact Jordan in 1996, although I may be wrong on that one! There certainly weren't any 7-speeders running around in '94.

the viper gts r use to have it on gt1 and 2 but it seems to have lost a gear I think that PD probably decide that some cars having a seventh gear useless because you could rarely get to the seventh gear unless you was on the test course

Well I've got the diablo and all of the other hidden cars and none of them have the mysterious 7th gear. I can change the values in the hybrid program to get a 7th gear though. I bet Polyphony were planning to have cars with a 7th gear but they just dropped it for some reason..

Yeah, I remember a thread a while back asking about the 7th gear. And everyone thought the Diablo had it, but it doesn't. Hybrids are the only way to get 7 gears that I can think of. I think someone mentioned that a Supra on GT2 had 7 gears..... :cheeburga

I was going to point that out as well. I was speed testing one once upon a time and as it redlined 6th gear everyone in the room let out an "awwwww" as I didn't have the fastest speed. Then to our complete shock it shifted gears and climbed another 20+ miles per hour (:
