I ran into this and notice a few others did too so I figured I'd post here.
8 digit VIP codes need a special activation, Here is the statement from codmasters.
Guess I should have just followed the instructions. Lol
If you bought DiRT3 in North America and we're provided with an 8 digit code, please follow the instructions on the card that point you to redeem your code on a special website.
If you have a 12 digit code that is not redeeming I would suggest you try again later. The PSN is experiencing heavy load since coming back online so it may be related. If you continue to have issues please contact Custoemr Support at custservice@codemasters.com
