For people who have 80-100% Complete

This thread is for people who have completed 80-100% of the game. Now, I know, based on my profile I haven't yet reached that goal. However, I'm looking into getting people's opinion of how they felt of the game. I have been reading the many threads around here and found there are a bunch of opinions all over the message boards. I felt, as a frequent visiter and occasional responder, it would be a great idea to get the opinions, and feelings of all the members out there who have finished the game to share their thoughts, feelings, and tribulations with the game.

Yes, being a person who lives by the rules, you must follow the Acceptable use Policy listed below every page. I'm the kind of person that will not judge you because of your opinion. Yet, I'm not interested in seeing people arguing over a video game.

For this thread, however, I have a few simple rules that I hope will help people out get their 2cents across:

1. You must have completed 80-100% of the game - hense the thread title.

2. Please do not judge or put someone down because they do not share the same opinion(s) as you.

3. Please use correct english for there are people who don't understand internet abbreviations, or english very well.

4. Just have fun expressing yourself, and please, lets all just get along :)

As long as these few simple rules are followed, we should all be able to get along just fine and maybe make new friends.

Now, I'm not one who is pickey on how people write things here so any format will do just fine to write your post as long as it's readable and others can read it too.

So, without further ado, lets get started and remember, just have fun expressing yourself and thoughts about the game :).

Lets get the party started!!!

PS = For the Moderators on this site who monitor the threads and posts ==> I'm not going to be posting a response all over. Instead, I'll write brief yet quick responses in the form of edits in this post here so as not to take up room in the rest of the thread and I'll marke the date of my edit as seen here below with my first response.

Edit = Now I know I said that any format will do when writing your opinion on the game, however, after how I saw Greycap write his post, I think that is an awesome way of creating your ratings. This is going to be the format =>

Cars: <write opinion here> rating from 1-10

Tracks: <write opinion here> rating from 1-10

Races: <write opinion here> rating from 1-10

Missions: <write opinion here> rating from 1-10

Licenses: <write opinion here> rating from 1-10

B-Spec: <write opinion here> rating from 1-10

Final Words/Thoughts/Conclusion of the game: <write opinion here> rating from 1-10

Right, this sounds like a good idea to me. :)

Cars: The main point of the entire game, Polyphony Digital got it almost right this time. Almost because there are some cars that should have been included like Audi Quattro rally versions and so on, but overall it's a great achievement. I don't even mind all those Skylines, they are all different from each other and more variation means more different cars for different people. Some cars are "useless" as they can't be used in races or even driven up steeper hills but still, they are milestones of car development and as such deserve their place in the game. Overall rating: 8,5

Tracks: A great variety of tracks, lots of real life ones and the old classics making a comeback. Many people say that the new Grand Valley is worse than the old one, but it's also much more challenging. I actually like it more than the old version. Autumn Ring is a great piece of technicality and produces great photos too. El Capitan is a new one but immediately made its way to fame, an awesome track that has been described as a "mini-Nürburgring". And then there is the Nordschleife itself, the most daunting race track in the world nowadays and it's even more amazing when one takes into account that it was built in the 1920's. Circuit de la Sarthe accompanies the Nordschleife, bringing a lot of racing history in the game. Overall track rating: 9

Races: There is something for everyone, from racing Citroën 2CV's in Paris to zooming through the Hunaudieres straight in a Sauber C9. Some of the races were way too easy and some were quite hard, but still they are all winnable. Overall race rating: 8

Missions: 34 mini-races that ranged from laughably easy to frustratingly difficult, they are a very good addition to the game. Different driving styles cause major differences in them as the cars usually have TCS and ASM on (d'oh) but after too much trying they are beatable. Overall mission rating: 9,5

Licences: More licence tests than ever, more variety than ever, and a few harder licences than ever. Like in the missions, there is very much difference in the difficulty even inside one licence. The S licence is a good example of this, the Chamonix test is very easy to get gold in but the Suzuka one is very, very hard. But nothing beats the feeling when you gold the last one of the 80 tests. Overall licence rating: 9

B-Spec: I think I have to tell my opinion of this too as it's probably the most discussed thing in the entire game. Even if i'm probably thought to be an idiot after this, I still say that I like the option of using the B-Spec driver. It's useless in the short races as the speed is nothing to boast about, but it saved me the pain of driving the 24 hour races myself. This alone makes me to give it a good rating, but it was fun trying to make the points go up too. It's no good in actual racing, but a valuable tool for the long endurances when given an overkill car to ensure the victory. Overall B-Spec rating: 8

And then the final words. I liked the game very much, it came up to my expectations even without some small glitches and shortcomings. Polyphony Digital did it again.

The overall GT4 rating: 9

Of course this is just my opinion.

Gran Turismo 4....

As I've said for years now; it's an 'unrivaled automotive masterpiece'...

With roughly 40 Million sales of Gran Turismo, it has become the world's greatest selling video game series.

A World icon; heroic; and unbeaten, it by far, is the greatest racing game in the world.

My view: True, but not perfected enough with too many mishaps here and there for it to live up to it's name in the Gran Turismo franchise; despite Kazunori Yamauchi's infamous constant halting of Gran Turismo 4's release date due to his quest for perfection...

But that, put simply, is just an overall view, the deep and in-depth view of Gran Turismo 4, I will discuss later...

i don't know if it will be agreed upon by other people aswell, but i would like to see a gran turismo game with damage, visual damage, and something beyond tire wear and fuel consumption. Overall, though, i thought it was a great game. A far greater improvement in garage size was and is the best part. :dopey:

I think you would be happy to know that Kazunori Yamauchi is woking on all that right now:tup:

.....or he could be trying to build model cars out of all his money:sly:
