go or no go ? i'm really getting impatient with waiting for the north american release. and i found a local store here that sells the japanese version, it will save me a few bucks since i think it's a $102.xx with shipping from play asia.com. what do you guys think ? the price is with no tax.

I also live in Canada and i only paid like 50$ including shipping for my jp version. Something's wrong in your calculations there...

Just wait two weeks and get the EU version, that is alot of money to be paying for a video game. Ultimately if you think you need it that bad go for it, but in two weeks you can get a game you can read, and not to mention all the extra stuff which may not be available to already released versions.

Don't do it bro .... if you really want it, download the PAL version
much cheaper I guess but I am gonna wait for the bundle

"PAL" refers to a type of display technology (645 horizontal lines at 50Hz), largely used in the rest of the world that isn't North America or Japan for broadcast TV.

Japanese GT5: P will have "NTSC" on the box - the same thing but as used in North America and Japan (545 horizontal lines at 60Hz). They are not interchangeable.

Though I find it somewhat odd that we still have separate PAL/NTSC (which refers to horizontal lines and refresh rates) regions for a game intended to be seen in 1080p...

I find odd when my japanese copy arrived, that my tv is completely blue and shaking. I borrowed my mothers-in-law tv till pal version. They ship it today! :)

Wait for US version, I hear 5 more cars or so. If you waited for so long, I think its not worth getting the Japanese version, and maybe the US version will have more US servers then EURO or Japanese.

way to be an idiot. just wait and buy the canadian version in a few weeks for $39.99

I live in Canada, and depending on what option you get for shipping, it can't cost that much on play-asia. Well, if you really do live UP there in the territories, maybe.

way to be an idiot ? did i ask for a bashing ? i believe not. i was asking that because a store here in vancouver has been ripping people off lately. i thought it would be the right price since when i tried to order it from play asia.com before, it was like $102.xx something(i was looking at two games at the time and didn't realize it :D). i didn't buy it, i eventually found an offer from another member of a car club i belong to, and sold it to me for half the price of what the dumb rip off store was asking. so yeah. you can call me an idiot if i buy it, but i didn't. problem with import games is the shipping always costs so much money if you dont get it from the right people. so as for you, you can go get a goat, take it home and you can just do the math from there once you get to your bedroom.

junior dee: i think the reason why is because i was looking at two games at the time. but still, that store here selling it for $90 is just totally ridiculous.
i had a look at their other import games and they were selling it for about the same price range. f'in ridiculous i tell you. thank god for the guy who sold me his for half the price.
