I'd take a skyline for that kind of money. Atleast you could drive a skyline and not feel like a consumer whore.
Either way you'd be a consumer whore. Both cars come from massive, faceless international corportations.

And that Camaro has one damn huge turbo! 👍 The intercooler is probably going to be the size of the side of a barn!

 Clarificate.

Well, I'd take a look at the fuel mileage of that thing. I doubt it's even 10 mpg. I'm not saying it's a bad car, it's just that I'd rather save money on gas, concidering the gas prices today.

Well only as long as its a LS1 commodore with a T88 (like the link) :D

uh...you mean a 900AWhp skyline? Those r the numbers of the blue one on 2F2F...900hp and supposedly tops out around 205mph. Also, i have no/very little respect for most american cars, Ford being somewhat of an exception. As far as im concerned the only thing americans know how to do is big hp and torque and then just watch it go flying down a qm. GM and Dodge/Chrysler/Benz can go die. SORTA nice....for a camaro. and yes that a huge T88.

Nope not correct at all. Do a search on that car and you will see your information is completely false. 2f2f Skyline 900hp and 205mph. Its a sick Skyline but the info you posted is false. I do love that car from the movie!
Back to the subject... That is quite an engine in the Camaro posted in this thread. Especially for 1 turbo.

what both? unless you're talking about a stock skyline, not a 900rwhp skyline.

Well, because I don't own either car, let's compare the stock ones, to get an estimate on their fuel mileage when they are pushed to 900hp.

Skyline
combined: 22.8 mpg

Camaro
19/20

So, it's not much, but for the money, I'd put my dollars on a Skyline.

I would rather have the Skyline over the Camaro. Yes I know I said that outloud. Just for the record I know a couple 1000hp Camaros that get around 23-25mph but they are twin turbo. Thats the only way to get that gas mileage with that amount of HP.

You are comapring EPA numbers to observed numbers. No fair for the Camaro.

Here, use the EPA numbers.
http://www.epa.gov/greenvehicles/E-CHEVROLET-Camaro-00.htm
18 CTY/27 HWY MPG, which averages to 22.5 MPG

So really, the MPG is very similar. (and the Camaro is rated at 305 hp while the Skyline is rated at 276 hp...don't tell me the Skyline is underrated, because the Camaro is way underrated too...I've seen stockers dyno at 310 hp at the wheels)

If your really that worried about gas mileage, why even bother getting a sports car?

That's like saying, If you want to go racing, why even bother with the SCCA?

There's different levels of desire for a sports car, IMO. All of them have varying cash flow issues to deal with. I'd rather save the money I'd be using for gas and make some more horsepower. That way, when I eventually get the type of mileage I would have with a low-mpg sports car, I'd already be one-up on the overall performance.

Hahaha, you are going to be driving a lot of miles to make up for the cost of performance enhancing mods, over 3 or so mpg savings.

And as far as I'm concerned, your credibility flew out the window when you mentioned 2F2F and a lack of respect for US cars in the same sentence, bloody ricer boys.

I would love to get that engine and put it in my LT1
Actualy Angel, you would be replacing the LT1 in your car for that heavily modified LS1 The LT1 is the engine code for the 285 hp iron block overhead valve 5.7 liter engine in your camero. The later versions were given the LS1 engine, an all alluminum version of the LT1, detuned slightly from it's 350 hp state in the Corvett to a 305 hp state. The ram air SS cameros made 320 hp.

And yes, I too would love to have that In a 97' Z28. I would love to have a 97' Z28 for that matter. Hey you think your dad could hook me up?

sorry, just nitpicking. I too am on the hunt for a camaro. If only I had the funds...

Umm.... you might want to scroll back and see what you posted, and who you mistook me for, before you walk away. I mentioned nothing about 2F2F, and I never dis-ed the American Car companies. Although I've had better luck with Imports, I never mentioned anything on that line at all.

Now, as for the mileage concern, I drive 50 miles to and from work every day, so I definitely would be saving money on that situation. I also make 360 mile trips to our cabin in Missouri. Would 3mpg affect me, YES.

sounds like what you should do is buy a geo metro for a commute car and the skyline for fun :dopey:

but..y'know.. insurance and what not for 2 cars... :scared:

Ohh, so you didn't, shoulda checked :guilty:

As for the fuel comment, in NZ, if a taxi driver would choose the cheaper LPG gas over normal petrol (which is something like a 3k option), it would take them about 3 years to get ontop of the total cost. In 3 years the average cab would do anywhere between 150-300k km. Flawed example, but I can't justify using a tuner car as an everyday car, especially if the miles are going to racked up to get the savings.
