I've been reading some FAQs on other websites. Apparently some people think that 98.25% finishes the entire simulation version of the game.....not so. The event generator courses count as races. Therefore, and I'm sure most of you know this, but that's th full 100%. For those who didn't know this....have fun!!! Cheers.

There are, I believe, three versions of GT2 for the US NTSC market. The first one maxed at 98.25%, the second went to 100.2%, and the final release worked correctly at 100%.

There was originally a drag racing mode in GT2, but PD took that out last minuet but didn't fix the percentage complete ratio to compensate. Then ther over compensated, and finally they got it right.

Ah, so that's it. I knew it was something like this.

...but it's close enough.

Actually, Version 1.0 has 98.2%, and 1.1 and 1.2 have 100%.

Only the PAL version can get 101.x% because you can complete both Opel and Vauxhall (not available on American and Japanese versions) events when you change the language settings.

In any case, your 98.x% version is one of te original copies of GT2, which also has the infamous Garage Bug, as well as the "Mark Martin" Taurus SHO.

Do a search on the differnet versions, and you'll pick up a tip or two.

How can I tell which version I have?

I just bought a used version and don't know if it will finish properly yet.

Will SONY still exchange it for a good disk set?

Cheers,

MasterGT

There were rumours that Sony would exchange the disks, but that was 4 years ago!

Just be aware of the Garage/Max Speed Test Bug...don't set any records in the Max Speed Test, and you'll be okay.

There isn't anything to be gained from getting 100% or 98.x% other than the satisfaction of winning all there is to win. If you've won every race, who cares what the statistics show?

've got the Pal version and cant even get to 100, I've completed everything I can find including opel/vauxhall and it's just stopped at 98.x%

I think you can get that [R]Taurus by purchasing the Taurus SHO and buying the Racing Modification for it.

Look in my signature. I got that by doing the Opel (changing the language) races and the event synthesizer advanced and pro races.
