This is actually quite funny but here is my "dirty confession".

I am playing around 3 weeks now with my new DFGT and I found yesterday that if I use the exterior camera it can help me greatly in many occasions like when I am driving a rear drive car or fighting for position between a stack of cars or even while drifting.. Before the wheel I never used it didn't help me at all, but with the wheel giving me the feel of where I am turning to the exterior can be of big help.

I guess this helps because you can see the car moving around (while in the real life you can feel the force), while in the game you have no sense of force on your seat.

i find in the last few games the rear camera has become useless for me, its too rigid. it needs to be more loose...in GT3 drifting was a doddle as it was flexible (I think it was PGR called it camera spring, that option would be nice actually!) but since then I find it harder to drive, and especially to drift, as the camera is swinging about so much with the car. :irked:

I had been struggling with the third nascar special event, couldn't get close in maybe 30 attempts. Changed camera view to chase cam ( or whatever it's called ) and got the bronze on the first attempt. Feel dirty now.:guilty:

It seems to make the game easier. There's not the same sense of speed, even if you're driving just as fast, so the answer must be that you're able to process more of what is happening in front of your car in this view.

Ye i agree. While on a real car you get feedback from the car , the chair/ seat u use while playing is rather static :p

I completely agree. The one thing that the game can't do is allow you to feel the car. So I use that angle more than anything to know what's going on. The other thing is not being able to look around inside the car freely. I know I know set up the buttons, but that's not even close to being able to very quickly glance up into the mirror or look down into a corner.

Also You can use that angle as more of a spotter for some of the tighter races.

Ye some cars i can go with inner others with exterior. But for me it's the only way to understand really well how the rear of the car is behaving.

It helps you to see other cars around you, but it completely destroys the illusion that you're actually driving, so I don't use it.

It really does help me when going at high speed. I've pretty much used it exclusively when using the FGT/now the X1 in the challenge (heck, i need all the help i can get for bronze...), i don't feel dirty since i'm already at a disadvantage by using a DS3 and automatic (i'll change one day!).

I use the trailer cam most of the time because the jittering in the other cameras gives me a headache. You don't get the same sensation of speed and no rearview mirror but it is easier to get a sense of where the car is on the track.

yeah ive always used the chase cam view since you cant feel what the car is doing ( loosing grip ect ) this view gives the most feedback about performance IMO

Please PD give us an option 2 select the chase camera as we want to.(stiff or loose)
I would like the same camera that was in the PSP version.
I think this isnt 2 hard.I know alot of people that dont like the stiff chase cam, but they like 2 play games in chase view.
