A couple bodywork questions...

Hardly getting any feedback from the Mustang forums I posted on, so I suppose I'll post this here...

I'll be shopping for a 94-95 Mustang GT in a few months (probably just in time for winter lol), and although I originally planned to do something else with it, I saw this Mustang not long ago, and I think that's the look I want to go for (black on black for me probably...different rims, of course, although I'm surprised by how much I like those rims. Without giving it any thought yet, the idea to use the optional Ford GT BBS rims crossed my mind...just to have something "Ford flavored" and not a Cobra or Saleen rim).

He only lists the obvious Cobra R body mods, but it's fairly easy to tell that the sideskirts are Saleen style. I'm not quite sure about that rear bumper, though...the best I can come up with (and it seems to be the obvious answer) is that it must be a modified "Viper" style bumper (with the vent looking things smoothed out).

How much more would something like that add to the cost (to have it professionally done)? And, for that matter, about how much does it cost to have all the stuff painted/installed (bumpers, sideskirts, and hood...disregard pricing for carbon pieces, if used....hoodpins add much?)? Couple thousand? More/Less? Better to go a piece at a time or all at once? I've never had work done on a car and this'll actually be the first car that I've bought, so I have no clue...

When it comes to filling holes (from logo's/wing/antenna/whatever), is it just cheaper to replace the panel entirely (including paint/installation...assume retail oem part price)?

Know how much it costs for shaved door handles (bodywork/parts/installation)?

Just lookin for ballpark figures and nothing too complicated...I'll figure out the details/modifiers as I go along...

summitracing.com has a door popper kit for inbetween 250 and 300 dollars. JEG'S might have a different kit or different price, so I'd try both.

If you absolutely must get a kit, get a good qualtiy one and have it professionally installed. You'll be much happier if it fits right than if you spend 5 or 600 dollars more than a 250 dollar ebay job.

Actually, I think the door popper is so simple it's almost a DIY job. Although, you'll want to have the doors repainted when you fill in the spot where the handles were.

Depending on how complex or flashy the paint is, it'll cost a pretty penny.
THe pearl White on my old lexus had a coat of primer, a few coats of silver metallic base, then the pearly white overcoat, followed by a few coats of clearcoat.

If you're doing Gloss black it shouldn't be that expensive.

So.. I don't really know anytghing about how much all the panels and stuff cost, but I hope some of that helped.

Yeah, I'm aware you get what you pay for...I'd rather wait a little longer and save my pennies for the good stuff (and have it put on right by a pro), than get the el cheapo stuff and end up paying for it later.

I'm not concerned about the price of the panels or anything...I know how much they go for and a lot'll depend on what materials I go with anyway. I'm just planning on buying a car with factory black paint and painting to match...nothing fancy...fancy can wait till I do all the other stuff I want to do with it. I'm just mostly concerned what the actual bodywork would cost, especially when it comes to modifying body panels.

I do recall the door kits being fairly simply now that you mention it...for some reason I was thinking those kits were more expensive than that considering how much vertical door kits go for. I'd still just leave it to somebody else since it requires the body work anyway.
