Hi all! I had this neat idea of writing a short story about what goes on inside a B-Spec driver's head. So here it is! And there's a thing to be learnt at the end, so read it! :p

November 24th 2010
Today he bought GT5. He looked pretty excited about it. Me, not so much...

November 25th 2010
Today he raced in A-Spec mode only. He didn't even look at the B-Spec mode at all. I feel so unimportant, unused. I know I have potential, if only he gave me a chance to prove it.

November 26th 2010
Today he finished the amateur section in A-Spec. He appears to be a good driver. Only, is he as good controlling a team? Only time will tell.

November 27th 2010
Today he finally noticed that there was another mode in GT5. He didn't even try it though, he just spent all his time doing the Special Events. When will he give me a chance?

Today he finally deciced to try B-Spec mode. I can't believe he chose me! In all the drivers, he chose me! There must be something special about me if he picked me out of all the other drivers! Hopefully I don't deceive him!

Today we did our first race together. I dunno why, but he kept pushing the buttons Pace up and Overtake. What the hell do they mean? I kept racing, ignoring them since I don't understand what they mean.

Today was a bad day, he kept me annoying me with the button Overtake. So much so that I couldn't take it anymore. I slammed the car into the wall and decided to let everyone pass me before I would start the car again.

December 1st 2010
Today he finally had faith in me. He let me use his Lamborghini Murciélago and hardly pushed the buttons Pace up and Overtake. I ended up winning the race over everyone!



What's the moral of my story? My moral is that if you give your driver a chance he will become good. Just don't let him drive a car that's a level above his. And once you find a car that he likes, stick to it as much as possible. For some reason, my Bob seems to like the Lamborghini Murciélago. So whenever I have the chance, that's what I'll use for races.
 
Bob needs his butt kicked. Bob races when he wants to. I don't like Bob by any means. I push bob because without doing so will result in a lose for sure and worse very expensive. If I needed to find a car and tune it right for Bob every race, then he just cost me some green. On the flip side of this, I can get more cars in my garage.

I let Bob use the same car that he won in at lower levels. As the levels increase, he acts like he forgot how to drive like he did in past levels with the same class cars. There has been many times that I want to actually sit in the car with Bob and teach him the ropes. Overtake does not mean tail gate in corners and stop when grandma does. Past her up and lead the pack. If I want to let him grind while I chore away or watch tv, I find that I have to use a severely over powered car just to win.
 
Exactly, if people would do what is supposed to be done in B Spec it can be somewhat fun. I've got my 4 30+ Bob's doing Tsukuba 9 hr Endurance for the 4th time in the FGT. 6 Hours down and 3 to go....81 laps ahead of the 2nd place driver lol. After level 35 I'm done with B spec unless I need to farm credits in the Dream Car Championship. My Bob's still upset me every now and then but for the most part I leave them alone and they do their thing regardless if it's an overpowered car or not.
 
I think my take on a certain Bob's first race would be somewhat different,

Wow, he's retiring some drivers to give me a chance. Hmm whats this? He letting me drive his Audi R8 5.2. Nice car, some tune ups and aero aids. Should be a breeze to drive. Where are we racing? Ah, Madrid... wonder if I can fit in some sightseeing... Under starters orders and we are off. Hmm he must be pleased with me as he is letting me get on with it. Approaching a hairpin... not a problem... oops... that building must have distracted me. Don't worry that damage is only cosmetic. I'll do better next lap. Oops... that XXXXXXX corner again... too much to look at. At least everything is still on the car! Next time.... not! Sorry I got distracted again. Bear with me.,, Oops... not again! Wow, nice call... Slow down, why didin't I think of that. No more damage. Another nice call for that corner... should really slow up for it.

And so it went on for the remainder of the race. He still tends to crash!

Perhaps your driver is a relative of my driver P.Jansson? If he is, he'll probably be a good driver later on in his career. Jansson was a terrible noob, but he's a great pro :).

December 30, 2010: I just became the newest member of team Thugnificent34 and they seem to be doing pretty well. I’m joining two other drivers (B.Mayer, and P.Lott) so the workload shouldn’t be too bad…

Race 1: I’m glad to see that this guy trusts my driving skills and has yet to have instructed me to “pace up” or “overtake”. I just hope that he doesn’t fire me after I crashing his FGT several times.

Later on that night: I joined this team as a level 0 driver and I’m now a level 20 driver with a 14/14 racing record. My green arrow is pointed downwards, and I need a break. Can someone please tell this Thugnificent guy that it is not ok to complete 14 races in one day :crazy:

Hmm, a racing contract outside of NASCAR? Seems like a tough shot, but I'll give it a go. I do have 5 Sprint Cups after all....

Day 1: Japanese 90s Cape Ring Race, Car: Acura NSX RM '91
Holy crap! This is NOT easy! (Rams Mitsubishi GTO) Sorry dude, I'm gettin the hang of this. Stop hitting the Overtake button, ZDUPH! Can't you see the Roadster, the Lancer, and the Silvia blocking me?! (Final Lap) Alright Jimmie, you got this (P.I.T. manuver's lead car, a Lancer TM edition) YES! I'm winning! (Finishes 1st) Woot woot!

Day 2: Tous Franc Championnat LaSarthe race, Car: Citroen Xantia
A French Car??? Are you kidding me? Oh what the heck. (Race begins, immediately rear ends Alpine A110) Crap! Sorry! (Understeers into dirt) AHH! I can't lose! (Catches up to pack) Thank god for Turbos and Stage 3 Engine Upgrade! (Overtakes all of the cars on the huge straight) Whoopie! (Wins race)

Day 3: British Lightweight Race Top Gear Test Track, Car: McLaren F1 Stealth Model
Sweet! A chance on the Top Gear Test Track, and in a McLaren! This oughta be fun! (Race begins) Wait, a race? How do we race on a darn Airport Runway? (Hits cones on 1st corner) Oh shoot, Jeff Gordon's gonna be mad when he sees those knocked over cones. (Slams into Lotus Elise) Owned. (Causes huge pileup) Oh damn! (Pulls way ahead) Oh yeah baby, I got this! (Wins race) Yippee!


See, even a 5 time racing champion can mess up. Be a good sport, give your B-Spec Bob a chance.:sly:
 
A short story of G. Fassbinder and his buddies (by G. Fassbinder):

*Cracks open virtual beer while resting in a vitrual beach chair behind the virtual pits at Indy*

What a fine day...sun is out, no clouds, spedy7 is grinding A-spec to level himself. Phhhfff...I'm level 30, he's level 24, what a noob.

Ah he finished his 12th run at Indy....and he's exiting A-spec? Hmmm...

*W. Rojas, B. Spears, F. De Rosa join in*

W. Rojas: Dudes, we're in for another endurance race...

*whines all around*

G. Fassbinder: What race?

W. Rojas: Some new race called the Indy 500. Hope this is better than the 4hr roadster race, that car SSSUUUUUUUCKED and was slooooow.

*Chooses X1*

All: LOLWUT? A new car!?!?

*race starts-Fassbinder is first*

Fassbinder: WOOOOHHOOOOOO! 250mph+!!!

*25 laps in*

Ah crap...this car ain't fuel efficient.

*plenty of pit stops later*

Fassbinder: We drive for 2 hours and all we get is some cheap *** standard old race car...wow, that blows.
 
A short storie about P.Weis my b spec

December 1st 2010:
I got chosen by my crew chief to do the sunday cup. He put me in a car which i was unprepared for a mercedes sls amg. Too my suprise i actually was able to drive until **CRASH** whoops... my crew chief was telling to pace up too much and i started to wonder how he became a crew chief in the first place with all this nonsense of instructions! Eventually after much damage to the car i won. Yippie!!

December 4th 2010:
After a long painful wait my crew chief allowed me to do the FR event in his 300ZX. If was a drifty fun time until my crew chief told me to pace down. I was dissapointed that i wasnt allowed to drift because it made my crew chief angry.
I was in 2nd place until i hit the supra in front to fast and made him spin out. This made me angry and i started to drift again. I came 1st and i was so happy!

December 10th 2010:
I was in America to race on daytona in the sport truck event me and my Toyota tacoma x runner were ready for this oval... or so i thought.
I started the race and braked at the areas i needed to this made my crew chief very angry. He told me to pace up,pace up, PACE UP but i kept on braking and came 3rd. My crew chief was pissed at me and i felt puzzled.

December 14th 2010:
After me and my chief having a hard time he decided to race me in the historic car cup in a 2J i won the deep forest raceway easily but at cote d'azur I kept messing up and hitting the walls i was forced to restart and restart the race over and over and finally after much damage i came 1st!!
My crew chief was happy for the the win but angry at the damage i did to his exspensive car!

December 21st 2010:
NASCAR event and i was dreading it my fears rose when i first drove it on laguna seca bashing and crashing my way too 1st I started the championship and realised after 3 races it was me vs. Joey Logano for 1st place i wiped out on race 4 and finished 5th i won the last race but it wasnt enough i was only 15 points behind Joey at the end my crew chief was proud at my efforts i was pleased with my results!

December 25th 2010:
My crew chief has dissappeared (YLOD) and i have no one to guide me i keep hitting cones and i am afraid incase jeff gordon tries to kill me.
I keep crashing into the wall because nobody is telling me right from wrong. Ohh.. crew chief WHERE ARE YOU!

December 31st 2010:
I found out my crew chief will be back soon with a special suprise i wonder what it could be he said it has wings hmm a aeroplane noo.. that would be silly
maybe something to do with red bull who knows??


Remember treat your b spec right and also he is very unpredictable but will become good with care and the right instrustions

How many Bob's do you need?

Can you race a long endurance race with just 1?
I did the Roadster 4 hr race with just the one I have.

...and what's the best way to earn credits and move up in Bob level?
