I am at 97% completion in the game, but there are a handful of things that I just can not seem to get past.

1: The second race of the advanced Karting (Autumn Ring). No matter what I do the front 6 karts seem to pull away from the pack almost immediately and I can never catch up with them.

2: The third part of the intermediate NASCAR (Overtaking on the outside at Daytona) The area that I have to keep the car in is so small its almost impossible to do with a sixaxis....

3: The Final two races in the advanced NASCAR (two laps at Indy and Daytona) Starting from 12/12 and trying to get to 1st is very difficult and I cant seem to do it within two laps.

4: The rally stage of the grand tour. I know this is as simple as getting a bit better at rally driving but I cant seem to get within 2 seconds.

Any advice on any of these things would be VERY appreciated.

Regarding the rally stage in Grand Tour, you have to drive the car without sliding it all over the place, if you feel you're going slow you're probably going fast, this is the most important advice (have a look on You Tube to see how it's done). Also, use all the road & then some right up to the invisible barriers, this isn't an online gentlemanly race so feel free to cut as many corners as the event will let you get away with.

For the kart one, you can just draft them.
The AI also take a few turns a little slower so you can use that opportunity to catch up if needed. I'll avoid the curbs though as they seem to unsettle the kart.

For the Intermediate NASCAR one, set active steering to mild or strong, it seems to help with a controller as it smoothens your steering.

The Advanced NASCAR challenges are near impossible, now that they've locked the ABS setting, drafting is the only way. Also, try and get one of the cars to bump into you the moment you get out of the pitlane, you'll gain more speed and time.

For the advanced challenge, the key is getting out in 5th and having the 6th place car bump you when you immediately come off of pitroad. It MUST be the 6th place car because if you do it earlier you won't catch the leader via drafting period and you will run out of time if its a car behind that car.

Yes, the rally race should be driven as a road course, not all sliding and drifting like you're led to believe rally is about.
