To the expert tuners who have made it possible for me to enjoy 750PP racing...
1) I'm driving the tuned Vette in the 750PP Suzuka event and struggle most of all with the hairpin. I'm currently using the RVT tune with my own gearing. The car doesn't tend to suffer much understeer at higher speeds because of my max aero setting, but for this corner it seems to have to drop to 38mph for the hairpin and there are also issues at Degner 2. My question is, if I increase the max steering angle from 40 degrees...will it help solve a little of the understeer here? No effect? Subsequent problems elsewhere?
2) Still with the above problem, I also have a lot of issues exiting the corner. To avoid mass power oversteer I take the corner in seriously low revs in 3rd gear, and when the car is reasonably straight I shift back down to 2nd. Is it better just to shift to 2nd and use throttle to control the oversteer to exit the corner instead of flooring it in 3rd with low revs then downshifting?
3) For the gears, I'm using 4-speed and basically have moved the bars all the way to the left to negate the need for fifth gear. This is called "lengthening" the gears right? If I then adjust the final gear to lengthen 4th just a bit more, and then re-adjust 1st 2nd and 3rd back to their original top speeds (to what they were before messing with the final)...is that advisable?
I was always under the impression that lengthening a gear gives it a higher top end but the decreased acceleration negates that effect..
4) Why are dogs' noses wet?
Many many kind thanks in advance for any advice or guidance.
