hi guys do you think we would be able to play gt5 on ps4? As in the current ps3 disc as my ps3 is spoilt and i now have 3 choices to choose from

1) Wait for the new ps4
2) Repair me ps3
3) Sell my ps3 and get a new one

my ps3 will auto shut down after i try to load a game....e.g. it will load gt5 until the main menu. So if i try to sell my ps3, i can try to smoke my way through into letting the shop think my ps3 is perfectly fine

For option 2 and 3 which is the most cost-effiecent?

As far as we know though, the PS4 won't have backwards compat, so I recommend replacing/repairing your PS3.

But, at the same time i would lose my hybrid cars which is sent to me by fellow GTPers. So im looking for trustable "friends" so that i can sent them those hybrid car and when i got my ps3 up again, they could send it bac to me....

the main hybrid cars i have is the 1200 hp lotus elise and a v8 golf gti.....

I don't know, your PS3 isn't infront of me so I don't know what's broken or how much the parts cost in your area. If it's still under warranty send it into sony, otherwise your local electronic store may repair it.

Personally I'd skip the hassle and buy a brand new one.

I have a good reputation on here if you want to send your cars to my: jgancherjr ;account I will gladly send them back if you get up and going.. Other then that I recommend you cut ur losses and get a new ps3 like Urie said... If you really want to trade it in, usually once a month GameStop has "double trade-in $ " on ps3's, Xbox, etc. so you wouldn't be out but about 50$ on a new ps3.. Also you could always put your games save on your flash drive?.. Also make sure you deactivate your account if you have purchases.. This may prevent you from putting your new DLC on your new ps3! 👍 & good luck!
 
If it is only giving you problems when you insert games, then use the opportunity when the PS3 is still working to back up all your data. Don't make the same mistake I made where my PS3 was dying, but I still had it working for enough time to back up the data, but never did because I didn't know you could not put your HDD in to another PS3 without it reformatting it and wiping your data.

The other thing is that getting it repaired should be fairly cheap. I see you live in Singapore, so I don't know if it will be the same case as it is in the US, but if you can find a local electronics repair shop, try them. Most local shops will be cheap compared to online companies where you have to ship them your system. The other thing is that shops will buy your PS3 for parts no matter what state it is in.

Definitely do not wait all the way until the PS4. We still don't know if Sony will be making it backwards compatible (not just for business reasons, but for hardware reasons. Emulating the PS3 is very tricky because the processor is very special. They aren't using a similar processor in the PS4 though, because it wouldn't allow for more progress believe it or not)
 
Your better off buying a new one. no point in waiting for the ps4 as thats not due for release until end of the year. do you have any 2.5 HDDs laying around? if so buy the ps3 4gb slim with the HDD bracket and stick a HDD in, thats what i did, i work in IT so just happened to have some HDDs laying aroud, much cheaper than buying the bigger ps3
 
I recommend you to get your own PS3 patched somehow than to wait for the PS4 to come out with patience...

Well everyone has already given great advice but I have heard and read an article that the PS4 will include backwards-compatibility.

(Granted you have to pay an extra 150 but still it's there and an option.)

Really? Where did you read that? Anything I've read, dating back a month, have said that there isn't any backwards compatibility.

To the OP, get a new one. Don't wait for the PS4, you'll be waiting a while!
 
Backwards compatibility was confirmed as being attempted when they announced the PS4, but they also said it definitely wouldn't be available at launch, that it would be a cloud service provided by Gaikai and they never mentioned a price. I don't have a clue what Screbz was reading, but it sounds like one of those pathetic rumours that gets put online to boost the site's hit count.
 
The PS4 will have backwards comparability with there cloud service. It will not be available when released but they are trying to get every game to be streamed.
 
I heard the PS4 has something that prevents PS4 games that have already been played on other PS4's to your own PS4. That means you can't play pre-owned games if I'm right (I hope I'm wrong).
 
That's a completely false rumour according to the announcement, publishers may implement it, but Sony said they wouldn't. Let's just hope they stick to that promise.
 
i caould car less abou this, I wanna know if we will be able to use our psn we have now on the ps4 or would we havew to make a new one.

Ill try and find the article when I get home, I personally don't understand how we would be able to play PS1, 2, and 3 games all in a drive designed for PS4 games but if it ends up able to happen then I'll be happy as a clam, ill edit this post once I find it.
