A Field Trip to the Museum

Remember when you were younger and you had all those glorious field trips when you were younger? I remember as a young boy, I been to the Houston Museum of Natural Science in the shadow of Hermann Park. I used to love being in the Museum District of Houston. Back in the 3rd Grade or so, I been to the Houston Children's Museum and enjoyed myself. I didn't really enjoy myself at the Houston Museum of Fine Arts until my brother took me out to the place about last year. With a beautiful sunset and a hot day, to tell you the least, I enjoyed myself.

But folks, this thread is about GT4's Museum. I haven't heard a lot about it except that you can possibly look at automotive history and race the cars somehow someway. Do you have any ideas for how the Museum should be, what should be in the museum, how the details of cars and such will be mentioned, or anything of that nature?

I think something that will be pretty much guaranteed is all the cult cars and successful race cars. If you want to celebrate automotive history, you'd might as well wander endlessly looking at automotive and racing history. So that would mean a multitude of machinery. But don't take John's word for it. What do YOU want to see for the Museum?
 
This is just a shot in the dark but maybe they will have all those clssic cars in there that you wil be able to drve/test drive.It would be cool while viewing the car that you hear a narrator talk about the history of the car.
But who knows,maybe it's just a place where you buy old cars.
 
id go for the second option, after all buying classic cars from a used car lot is less than ideal. having second hands and classics seperate is something i thaught should have happened in gt2. but there probably wasnt enough to justify it.
 
I think in the museum you should have to do races with historic cars, then for completing the races you should unlock videos about the history of the car you raced with or history about cars in general.:)
 
I read somewhere that on specific game days only, you will be able to use specific cars from the museum.
 
:confused: ohhhhhkay. im not sure wether thats a great thing or a bad thing. on tiger woods (2003 methinks maybe others) you can only enter certain tournaments on certain days.

oh hang on we can just change the date for the car we want to drive from the ps2's options cant we?
 
Yeah it probably just works off the system clock, so that may work.
 
Certain cars on certain days? That's almost like trying to get the beautiful Toyota 2000GT from the Toyota Used Car lot. I think that if you wanted a museum, the cars in question will be represented all the time, waiting for you to read and learn. But GTXLR, nice find, whatever source you got that from.
 
Think of all the cars in Museum Mode. I can probably recall the Datsuns that raced very well in America. I do love the 240Z. I know I've said 260 and 280Zs, but I kind of like the 240Z the most. I'd like to learn about the Toyota 2000GT and its racing successes in Museum Mode. Maybe I can relive history by winning a major endurance with the Mazda 787B. While Le Mans is a maybe, the race would probably be at the Nurburgring Nordschliefe. I wouldn't be surprised if maybe more than cars are at the museum. Perchance, we may look at engines, historic racing figures, timelines of a certain car make, that sort of thing. I think that with time and thought, Museum Mode can be a hit and pick up where GT2 left off. And pick up in a BIG way. Any questions or comments?
 
Id read that in an interview with Kaz some time ago, cant remember where now. The racing cars on certain days referred to game days, probably work much like the old Car lot from GT2 where some great cars only appeared on certain in game days, so changing your system clock wont work.
Cant really remember if it said you could race them or just get to drive them either.
Still looking forward to trying out some of these historic rides, if it happens.
