Hi All,

Looking to buy my first wheel setup and was wondering whether I should start with a DFGT or the Fanatec 911 Carrera? I'm on a budget of not more than $200 but I want something decent. I like that the Fanatec has a clutch pedal and the price range is pretty much right there but I haven't seen too many reviews on this particular wheel, thoughts?

Fanatec's wheel has gearbox not as close to the wheel as DFGT (that would add some realism), but still not far enough. 911 Carrera wheel has LED screen adome other things that doesn't exist on DFGT.
Anyways, on your place I'd buy 911 Carrera wheel.

PS: I'm not expert in wheels.

I'm in the same case that your.

I bought a DFGT but it broke down so they returned me the money.
Now i dont know if buy another DFGT(i liked it) or the fanatec carrera, but I think i prefer the fanatec becuase the clutch. I read good reviews about it and i think that it worths the overpriced.

Watch this review is very complete: (it start on the 25min)

I wish to have 911 Carrera wheel too, but I can't because of two reasons:
1. Money. It's never enough.
2. My country (Russia) doesn't exist at the list.
So I've got cheap Defender wheel instead.

Here in Spain you can find the Dfgt very easily on about 120 euros, the fanatec is only 40 more euros, i think its the best option

Yes, the second review that Simracingtonight did was absolute true, well in my opinion. But I have the Fanatec Carrera 911 wheel and it is astonishing! Sure the pedals arent as great as the clubsport pedals that I've tried from a friend but the pedals are decent and gets the job done for me. I mean $160 for a wheel with 900 degree rotation, change deadzone, linearity, abs, and other features, H-shifter, pedals with clutch, you cant argue with the price that you're getting for.

What does the abs on the wheel?Whats the linearity?

Thanx!

Thanks for all the great info guys, much appreciated. I think that I'm going to get the Fanatec wheel as it seems to be the best bang for my buck at the moment. Once I can afford it I'll probably upgrade the pedals.

ABS determines what percent of braking requires for the rumble motor to vibrate. For example set at 65 when cause the brake and wheel to rumble when braking 65%+.
Linearity setting changes the degree of your wheel changes vs game wheel at the center. Linearity at 0 is one for one but linearity at 100 means game wheel with turn very slowly compared to your wheel near the center (for example for every 10 degrees of your wheel rotation equals only one degree of game wheel) and gradually speed up as your wheel reaches it's maximum degree of rotation ( one degree of your wheel rotation could equal 10 degrees of game wheel at maximum range) .

MANY MANY THANKS!!!

I didnt know that!! But, Are you sure that the fanatec carrera has the abs on the brake?? (it come withthe standards pedals) Do you know if the DFGT has abs on the wheel?(because i didn't notice when i had it, and of course it hasn't got on the brake pedal)

greetings!!

Yup those features are straight up that are on the Fanatec wheels. A huge advantage against Logitech wheels when it comes to adjusting the settings on the wheels based on your personal liking.

Update: I just purchased the Porsche 911 GT3 RS V2 clubsport package and added their standard shifter set. I'm very excited about getting this wheel but now I need to figure out how I'll build my racing cockpit. I want to do a custom build, nothing spectacular like some of the people on here but I do want to incorporate an actual racing seat. Any suggestions for finding a good price on a racing seat?
