A fully upgraded car, Detuned itself, and I didn't even get my money back!

I'm not at a huge lose obviously, but I feel uneasy about the game doing this as it leads me to think what else could it be messing up.

I bought a trueno a few weeks ago and installed all the highest end parts as you do. I was racing with it like this on many occasions online and off. It had 297hp or something.
Then there was a online race where I could only have 220hp, so within the online room I went into settings and put some parts back to stock to meet the HP requirements. I only selected to refit the stock parts and didn't wipe out or sell the other parts or anything, I dont even think you can once its purchased for a car.

Today I notice they car is back to stock HP and upgrade parts are missing. And it has only retained some weird stuff like body ridgidy suspension and the racing tyres, but everything is is back to stock and I have to rebuy the stuff!

I am 100% sure its the same car (only got one) and didnt mix anything up.

The upgraded parts got stolen for the 2nd hand market?

Seriously though, you might be on to a bug since the HP restriction thing got added in a patch, they might have overlooked something. But since you described this so clearly I'm sure someone can try it out and see if it can be reproduced or that it's a random glitch...
 
Buying upgrades doesn't cause the game to autosave. So... I think yeah, you DID get your money back. And your miles back.

Did you check your "Items" to see if they were in there? I bought an extra set of race tires for one of my cars and found them sitting in the items area.
 
Yup fellas the first thing I did was was check the items. They are not there. I dont even store stuff in my items bin I just fit the parts right away.

Evileyes, yea now that you mention the update it did happen during the 1.02 to 1.03 update. I think I was even online and racing at the time. Dunno..

BradKinder, did you even read my post? I clearly said I drove it around for weeks in its tuned form. I doubt I could have dodged the autosave feature after a few weeks of use....sigh.

Luminis, You said its happened to you once or twice? What exactly do you mean? The same as me? You dont simply mean youve bought a part and pressed no when you didnt fit it on the spot and it got sent to your items box, do you?

No no. I know about this. This is perfectly normal operation of the game, if you buy a part an dont fit it onthe spot when it asks you it gets sent to your items box and doesn't get fitted to your car.

I meant detuning a car after teh parts were installed, due to B-Spec Bob needing an overpowered car and I wanted it stock.
After driving it stock, I re-applied the mods again and when I wanted to race it again after a while, it was still stock, with the parts still being in the items list.

Not a big deal, but that's why I mentioned the Item List.
 
We have had this happen to 3-4 guys over at the racing elite including myself. 2 of them were both Veyrons! It wasnt due to not saving the progress either as I had my Veyron for at least 3 days fully tuned before it lost all the parts.

All I can think of is that I lost them when I painted the car. There is a bug somewhere!

Nothing in the items box either.

If you race modify a car, all existing upgrades will be cleared automatically so you can further upgrade it. I would say RM first without upgrades then buy the left over upgrades (engine/turbo).

I don't know whether or not the already spent credits on upgrades are deducted from the RM fee or not, so I don't know if it'll cost you more money if you upgrade first.
 
This is why they don't build race tracks in the hood. You guys just got jacked.. Parts are gonna show up on Forza for half price- cash only!

I think you guys did find a bug. Hopefully it will get patched and you will get credited.
 
The fact is that PD stealing all your stuff because they want us to grind even more, so the game will "last" longer. Why do you think we cant copy our savegame? How come people have lost cars millions of credits worth while doing online trading?

This things must be good for PD because that makes the game "last" longer. We must win all our stuff back again, and spend 25 hours aday grinding. Huh, if i want grinding i start doing tricks on skateboard :)
 
Ive had this happen to me twice already. First was my enzo that lost everything, didnt get my money back either. then the other night i bought a lotus elise and did this in order:
wash
oil change
race mod

full upgrades.

i raced this car about 4 laps on nur. then saved the game and shut it down. next day no mods on that car whatsoever.
 
I had a weird thing happen on my vette race modded car it wouldn't let me buy the level 2 engine upgrade saying I had to do them in order but at the same time it showed that I already bought the level 1 upgrade and it was applied even though I had not bought anything since the race mod.

I fixed it by accident by going to the tune menu before a race and checked the upgrades there. It let me apply the level 1 upgrade there by clicking on it then I was able to buy 2 and 3. I dont think I ever paid for the level 1 mod

Weird even still I just checked it and all other engine mods were purchased but not applied I had to reinstall them all and not just the check box it actually applied them. I wonder if my HP is messed up because of this is 881hp right for a all in vette zr1 RM?
 
Sounds harsh but I must say its good to hear my game isn't the only one glitching up. I made another theread about my game hanging in menus almost once a day but with everything thing else like background music and XMB working (even when NOT connected to the internet, and it lasted indifinitely) and it seemed no one else had that issue.

No THIS I always wonder, if there are people out there with messed up stats that have an advantage or disadvantage because of a gltich. For exaple it lets you apply upgrades or boost a value 2x over.


Off-topic but still VERY relevant, just tonight, a friend said he bought a Ferrari Enzo a few days ago, and today it was nowhere to be seen, the car was just plain MISSING. He didnt try to trade it to anyone or simialr either. Still saw he even has the trophy for buying an expensive car too.
