I want to win more than 6 Beginner races with the first car I buy.
How far can a cruiser take me?
What is its pwr/wgt ratio fully moded?

dunno, but prob not much :dunce:

The first Gran Turismo was released in Japan on December 23, 1997, which doesn't add up to 9 years old quite yet.

I think that the car is good for at least 3 events(Sunday cup, Clubman cup, FF cup and possibly NA cup), not too sure but it may go up to 350 hp. Don't know about the weight ratios.

Golded S8 last night so I have all the prize cars to sell.
That gives me 406,000 credits to spend.
I can now afford the 4WD Ruf, the Zonda C12 or C12s.
Is the Lotus Esprit any good for the PD cup?

Yes - it's a beautifully balanced machine. Very rewarding.

Whenever I start I genrally sell all the prize cars exept the RX8 and miata. RX8 becuase I like it, but you can buy some super slicks and an oil change for the miata and win the enderuo endurance. Theres another few hundred gand for your start.

The Esprit also has pretty good top speed when modded I believe. Is it enough for Like the wind race with all the go fast bits? Off course I would run the PD cup first.

So my shopping list will look like this.
FWD : Accord Type R.
MR : Lotus Esprit
RWD : Dodge Viper
4WD : The Legacy GT wagon

I will also need a Vitz, Altezza, Mercedes, TVR Tuscan, Lancer, Skyline, MX5, Clio, K class car, Beetle, Elise, Audi TT, Zonda,
If I buy an R32 Skyline I can use that for the 80's races.
I can use : the Viper in the American races.
the Elise in the convertable races.

I will use a F1 for the F1 races and one of the LM cars in the race car championships.
The Evo I will use will probably be the RS version.
Have I missed anything.
That Jaguar XKR (?) would look nice also in BRG.

Yes - it's well over 1000hp and probably the quickest MR road car for Like The Wind.

Thanks for the reply Famine.

However it is fairly hard (in my mind) to save the game after selling those lovely prize cars and ruining a perfect start. I really nead another memory card. I will get a 50 dollar gift voucher from work as a Christmas present so I guess thats what I will buy.

Time Trials completed, I now have the Esperante GTR-1 in the garage. So total credits are about 906,000 if I sell all the cars.

22/11/04 . I did not sell any license prize cars.

I drove 4 different cars (MX5, RX8, 350Z concept and Vanquish) in the first two beginner championships. That gave me enough to buy my first car. The Honda Accord Euro R. Did the Beginner FWD, NA and Type R races with small upgrades along the way. The Beginner type R race gives enough cedits to fully mod the Accord.
Fully modded as it now is it makes a nice drive, easilly wins the Amateur Type R races and Amateur NA races for quick cash.
Handles a lot nicer than the FITZ (Fully modded Vitz) in my opinion.
Used the car for the Amateur FWD races and noticed the AI played catch up.
I am selling prize cars I get from races which boosts the cash I have to spend.
I have bought the Viper as my second car, which I plan to drive at the PD cup.
Expecting a easy set of races with this car using T2 tires I also bought.

Pal players with a MX5 B license car for the first two events and then buying a
FWD type R honda can make a quick start using the above plan.
