Hi all

I am currently looking to upgrade from my 720 but can't find any (or enough) info on a good 1080 that features picture in picture (with the option to change sound between the sources). I was wondering if anybody had one or could recommend a good one?

Thanks.

Good luck man. I'm sure they are out there if your willing to pay the price, but I haven't found anything "reasonable" that does this. I think with the cable companies basically giving away DVRs that PIP may be going the way of the wagon wheel. Sucks, I like PIP.

Yeah, it basically comes down to most people want PIP to see two channels, not two different sources, and with cable boxes, you can't see two channels unless you hook up two cable boxes. (Unless, of course, your cable box does 2-channel PIP, in which case you don't need it on the TV anyway.)

I've used mine infrequently, one pic on the DVR and one on live TV, but I've almost never used the 2-tuner mode except to show it off to friends when they came over. :sly:

My previous set had 2 sizes available for the PIP and I always used the smaller one. My current set has only one size, and it's just too big, it's in the way.

Another difficulty is the source signal. Say you want to watch a Blu-ray but keep a standard TV channel open for the game. The PIP has to be able to accept whatever source and frequency you throw at it, which gives it fits.

THIS

Absolutely stunning picture. Am using for MW2 at the moment, and it is much better than my 42" LG TV, even when I thought that was good. I would really recommend, as the price seems to be pretty low at the moment, which is why I bought in. These TVs come with HDMI control too, which is really useful for watching bluray/dvd on your PS3. Oh, and yes it has PIP.
BTW unless you have a really good reason, I would not say that going from 720 to 1080 is really worth it. Side-by-side there isn't a big difference, especially when you sit back. SD-HD is a bigger change.

Thanks for the replies.

I will be sure to check out the Bravia Emu76 thanks for the heads up. Hopefully they do a bigger one with the PiP still on board.
