A GTS vs PC question

In my opinion the penalty system is making GTS sport mode unplayable, its more frustrating then fun.
No reason to go through all the problems when they've been brought up over and over again on this forum
in the past months, and still no improvements. It actually seems to be getting worse. Its time to try a new game.

My question goes out to the Project Cars players.
Is the penalty system in PC any better?
Does it actually allow competitive side by side driving without dishing out penalties for incidental contact?
Does it tell you what your being penalized for?
Does it penalize the guilty for plowing into a group of cars, and not the innocent who get pushed into the cars in front of them?

I know I said there's no reason to list the problems but I had to get that off my chest.
Thanks for any help

I find it somewhat better than GT Sport if you are in career mode. Kinda reminds me of Formula 1 in which you are not allowed to exploit the track limits (kerbs, drainage systems on the outside) to gain extra speed. If you go too wide out of a corner to gain extra speed, you get penalised. This is especially noticeable on Knockhill, in the uphill "chicane" section. Try it out with the Ginetta Junior, if you wash out on exit there you may get a penalty.
Sometimes it is very picky with collisions, but nowhere near as much as GT Sport. In PC2 it depends on motorsport discipline really (you can have much more aggressive and door-banging races in Rallycross, while in Open Wheel and GT races it can get a bit more picky)
Also there are warning systems in PC2. You get notified when you commit an offense. Also before getting a penalty, you sometimes have the option to slow down a bit (usually half throttle/coast for a few seconds, depends on the harshness of the offense)
Overall I prefer PC2 as a motorsport experience as I can get away with much more racing without being told off like in GT Sport.

I don't know much about the game, but I've heard that it's matchmaking is pretty poor. So that you can't find great races outside of leagues.

As far as I know the thing to look out for is the new Assetto Corsa when it comes out. It seems to be challenging iRacing when it comes to the matchmaking and penalty system in general.

I wish GT had this. I don‘t think it‘s that hard to detect if a car gained or lost time going off track, hitting a wall or pushing another car. If I bump somebody a bit and then let him pass again there shouldn‘t be a penalty given to me
