So, I really hate to admit this on GTP of all places.

This is very embarrassing but people need to know the truth about this. I'm horribly ashamed but I can't pretend it isn't true any longer.

Admitting this will lose all my respect on GTP, but I feel it's time to be honest with you all.

I'm sorry GTP, I'm sorry to my self confidence, I'm sorry to the whole automotive world for this, but..

I actually own a 2.2L Camry.

Now you see, from now on I must wear a bag over my head. But you all should know this horrible horrible truth about me.

I'm deeply sorry, for I am sure that now after reading this, you will need counseling. Just the thought of an actual GTP member owning such a car, I just can hardly bear it.

Deepest apologies for this. I'm sorry for having possibly just ruined your day with this news..

Well, one thing I have learned, KinLM, I won't be racing you.

Well, I don't see the reason to be ashamed to own one. I mean, they're superior to all of today's supercars and race cars, even top fuel dragsters and land-speed-record-cars.

Well hell man, if its that embarrassing, I'll buy it from you for a nickel

I could've been blessed with the 3.0 LE V6.

But no. Instead, life has given me the little 2.2L 4 cylinder version.

Whenever I go on the "What do you drive?" Forums, I see people with beautiful RX-7's, 86's, Evos..

And I'm just like "I've got a white '97 2.2L 4 cylinder 4 speed automatic front wheel drive Toyota Camry.."

And then everything becomes awkwardly quiet.

That silence is just fear! :scared:

It has four wheels, and can get you from point A to point B. I don't see an issue, you have the freedom to go anywhere.

(And yes... I read the original topic.)

If I had to own a Camry it would be the 97 era model. I like the body shape and the rear lights. But then I would probably steel the crank out of it and put in my SW20 MR2 along with a turbo. :trouble:

I have mad respect for you growing a pair and admitting that here, of all places haha. Nothing wrong with a 2.2L Camry as long as you aren't like the rest of the terds (no offense) that think they have the fastest car in the world XD

It would be fine anywhere except GTP, where the 2.2L Camry has a Godly reputation for being sarcastically good, to the point where it's simply something to laugh at, an enormous inside joke.

I laugh because it is an inside joke. In all honesty, it's a damn good car. Not the best. But as long as it runs, and made out of 13 other Camry's body pieces, you're good. Heck, I'm with xNEVER-ONEx, as I am carless right now. I haven't literally been out of my house but three times since Halloween.

The 3.0L 1MZ is not that much better.
I know because a daily an ES300.

We are young.
Heartache to heartache
we stand.

There's nothing wrong with having a 2.2 Camry, but there is something wrong with claiming that it's the fastest car in the world because you know how to drive it. There are many cars I'd rather own, but it's certainly reliable transportation. You really should find a GTP bumper sticker for it, though.

GTP magnet! If I had a paypal or credit card, i'd buy it for you :D

GTP has been making fun of a certain ninja wielding a 2.2L Camry. Not all 2.2L Camry's, or their owners.

Of cousre I don't drive a Camry. But every so often I do drive the misses' 1.8L, 5spd '04 Corolla S, heck it's even white:yuck:

I feel your pain man(well not really, I have real car too).:sly::lol:

We took it to a racetrack once.

It reached a full 80 MPH before a spark plug became disconnected.

I'd like to meet this ninja that somehow was able to beat everything with his Camry. Unless he strapped about 10 turbos to it, I don't think he'd be beating even a rock in his Camry.

Pics or bs. You can't just claim to have such a beastly car then not provide pics :lol::lol:

What's the easiest way to post pictures on here? I don't have a Flickr or photobucket or anything.

What's so special or should I say unspecial about the 2.2L Camry?

No. Do NOT tell me that you don't know. It's a GTP Legend. Have you not seen "The Thread"?
