I wish...
Good luck with that
So there were threads like this for GT2 and 4, so I thought I'd make one here. So let's share some funny things about GT1:

Mine: Construction is never done at Special Stage Route 11.

(snip)always sell for either 10,000 cr. or 12,000 cr.!
God that's annoying. The 12K sell value of all cars makes it hard to use any prize car as a decent cash cow, because all won cars can't be sold for crap! GT2 on had cash cows (Speed 12, Gillet Vertigo, Toyota RSC Rally, etc.) but not GT1. If there is any cash cow in GT1, there is the Demio from the Sunday Cup, but that's it...

Underlined cars wasn't in GT2. 💡
I said GT2-on

my favorite thing was the stone temple pilots song, and the soul coughing song. "Move aside and let the man go through, let the man go through". I never listened to music while racing after GT2 so those memories stuck with me.

The grandstands at Autumn Ring Mini is very small and only few. (also in GT2, tho)

:boggled:

There's apparently a reverse-socialist program going on that tries to implement a monetary system that makes everything even.

In other words, doesn't matter what the car, how fast it is, how slow it is, how worthless it is, how overkillish it is, it'll always sell for either 10,000 cr. or 12,000 cr.!

The real-time reflection thing was at the time something from the future. Every videogame magazine pointed out that "if you close your eyes ever so slightly, you swear you're watching a live TV race!"

You can go up on two wheels, but you can never ever topple over.

Washing a car only requires it to be spun a couple of times without any water or soap.

I always thought you race memory cars (see what I did there?) in memory card battle until my friend showed me how it works.

There is/are no "cash cow" prize car/cars in GT1 , but there are 3 reasonably good events for pure fund raising.

1. Special Event > Megaspeed Cup

Qualify to Pole position = 5,000 Cr (not worth it as you get better Cr/lap on the race)
Race Win Bonus = 15,000 Cr (a 2 lap race means that you get 7,500 Cr/lap)
Cup Win Bonus = 30,000 Cr + a car that can be sold for 12,000 Cr

3*15,000 Cr + 30,000 Cr + 12,000 Cr = 87,000 Cr
When not qualifying , this takes about 9 minutes to complete. (from entering the event to selling the prize car)

2. All-night 1 qualify race = 20,000 Cr (time spent from race entry to race exit : about 3 minutes and 10 seconds)

3. Grand Valley qualify race = 20,000 Cr (time spent from race entry to race exit : about 2 minutes and 50 seconds)

In about 1 hour and 45 minutes you get 1,000,000 Cr by racing the Megaspeed Cup

(My current daycount and Cr : 5343 days , 26,054,988 Cr.)

^ GT1 still doesn't compare to GT2's major cash cow though: the GT All Stars at Red Rock! I mean, can any GT so far beat $500,000 for selling the Speed 12 + whatever the actual race pays? That's for 5 laps of racing, which can be accomplished in a little just over 10 minutes. :D

^ yeah and if you just wanted money you could fall asleep and use the Escudo or GTO TT and ride walls :sly:

Same as GT2-4. Still ridiculous though.

Yeah, but getting on two wheels in GT1 is much easier than on later games, so I thought it's more appropriate for this section.

Ah yes, the purple (no connection to Famine) cash cow we all love so much. Quite ironic considering there is only 1 built in real life.

The race itself pays $50,000, so you can get $6mil+ in around an hour (each race took me around 5 mins, including load times etc). That nets you 3 Excuseos :yuck::scared:

I think TVR went out of business because we took all their money!
