Is there any way possible that I could copy and paste my work in MSWord into a new thread?
Thats keeping all the formatting in the word Doc the same has an when I copy an paste?

For example the highlighted Items which are marked in a different colour?

Mercury Cougar XR-7 '67 (In word this is Bolded. But when copied over it lose,s it so I have then further to edit in GTP)
Burgundy (Highligted in red. But further editing in GTP)
Caspian Blue (normal Black)
Fawn Pending
Glacier Blue (normal Black)
Jamaican Yellow Pending

And the items marked Pending are in Blue but when copied over from word it then needs further highlighting in GTP?

Thanks for any help.
And the list Is a lot bigger than the example thats why I wondered if its possible otherwise it means a Bucket load of editing when fetched from MSWord.?

No.

Word formatting is unique to Word documents - though it can be used in other programs that can recognise the file format. The forum software is not amongst those programs - text formatting must be done in BB code, using [b] and [color=] tags.

Word formatting and forum tags and incompatible.

To put text in bold here requires the [ /b] tags, so if you wish to copy and paste, from word, something in bold you need to put the bold tags into word too. Either way, you need to do a bit of editing.

Things like word columns or word tables cannot be done in the forums.

Also, moved to the correct forums. This has nothing to do with GT5.

EDIT: Sorry for the double post. I sometimes forget that I have just posted.:(

Doing it in word is easier. To save you from typing in the whole tag, you could type in an "odd" character, or one you would never use anywhere else in the document, like a | or a {, and then use find and replace to replace that character with [color= or similiar.

Or just do one [color= and copy it and go through your doc and paste when ever needed. Then repeat with the [/color] tag and so on.

Thanks Dann, Yes thats the way I was thinking of doing it.
Just copy and paste the selected Tags from the Forum site GTP.
Then when editing in MSWord just do my copy and paste in document.
And when copied over from MSword just do a preveiw before I post?
Then hopefully If my word doc is OK it should look OK when fetched over.
Keeping my fingers crossed. LOL:)
But I guess its going to be sometime has Its quite a bit of work for me.
Thats why I was looking for a cheat I guess on importing over from MSWord.:sly:

hey, i think if you use notepad++ you can get a BBcode plugin, i think i used it before in college, might be worth looking into.

In MS Word 2010 this will work, I don't know if it'll work with older versions.

Leave the Find what field: blank
In the Format -> Font section, select Bold

In the Replace with: [ b]^&[ /b] (without spaces)
Replace All

This should add the bold tags to your bolded text.
Try this out on a copy of your document.

Hi there AMG thank you for your help. Been great.
At the moment I am working on producing My 0/0/0 garage and just getting it up to date.(Long task:))
And has a rule I tend to use MSword.
But with your help I forgot about the little short cuts I can use in there. (MSWORD)👍
I have decided that since GTPlanet supports PDF files and I can save in PDF format I am going to use that as a link in my signature.
It will save on editing a thread and the majority of people of GTPlanet tend to veiw the signauture,s that will save me a load of time editing.
Something a little like the link in My 0/0/0 Garage.?
My 0-0-0-Garage.pdf
Plus am on the latest version of MsWord so all is Ok.👍

You may want to take a closer look at Google Docs. It will import MS Word documents (though you may rather store that tabular data in a spreadsheet) and share the public link for it. Any edits or additions you make will then be automatically and immediately visible.

Thanks Jordan I looked at your advice and decided to give it ago.
Seems like all is going Ok and its like using MSWord with the same editing in there.
Plus works well with importing my work into it?
Thanks again.
