Hi
I was wondering whether anyone knows why sometimes when I quit LBP or Bad company the ps3 does three beeps then restarts and sometimes when you turn the ps3 off on these games it does three beeps just before it turns off like a second before. Also when i turn of the ps3 during these games sometimes it does when beep then three beeps a second before it turns off.
im sure these have been asked before but if anyone knows what is happening can they let me know thanks.

the 3 beeps when turning off is typically that the ps3 is trying to write data to the hdd while ur trying to turn it off. Keep an eye out for the hdd indicator (bottom left for lbp, unsure for bbc). i would recommend (for your problem with the ps3 restarting when quitting) deleting your gamedata for the two games and re-installing the game. Best would be to format your hdd though and see if the problem persists.

It only happens to me when I turn it off when its in an online game or if its frozen and I turn it off.

I have an answer but only for Battlefield as I don't have LBP yet. Anyway when the game ends wait for the next match to load then exit the online area. Once your at the main menu you can quit the game or turn your system off without having this beeping problem.

Yeah thats basically what I mean, when it is in the main online bit in my games is when it beeps to me.

It's best to exit the game first if possible. The only time I seem to get the beeps is if, as stated above, I'm in an online game or it's frozen. I usually try to get to a menu (or another area where no loading/saving will occur), then quit the game, then turn my PS3 off from the base XMB area.

It is generally not a good idea to quit a game while it is still accessing your hard drive, and certainly not when it is recording data to your hard drive, let alone turn the PS3 off before quitting a game... although I've done both on occasions, always by accident and have so far not had any problems, but it's not something I would do on purpose.

So you may want to make sure the yellow HDD access light on your PS3 is not on or flickering when you turn the game off and see if that works out better.

I dont exactly check anything, and once something bad happened. It lost some data and had to do a system recovery and I was making my underpants brown in the proccess:guilty:. It luckily didnt erase any of my data but Im a bit more careful now.
