So, I don't want this to become another "I hate GT5!" or "GT5 sucks!" kind of threat.
I just wanted to share (and maybe somebody else does) what I actually feel as a long time fan of the series.
I agree with many others in some points:
-GT5 is not the best game in the series.
-GT5 stayed in developement for far too long.
-Kazunori might have lose a little bit of vision about the game (I mean, he was racing at Nurburgring at the same time XD).
-GT5's progression is hard and not very well balanced (although I don't think is as bad as many people thinks).
-The level system and the premium/standar division are not good characteristics in a racing game.
-We were hoping more of this installment.
Also, I agee in some other points:
-Gran Turismo, and 5 is not the exception, remains ahead of any other competition (Forza is the closest in my opinion) in the driving simulation department.
-GT5 can be extremely fun and challenging.
-GT5 keeps the unique style of the series and provides an unique experience (I think that games like Shift or Test Drive Unlimited are very good games but only for execution and not for originality).
-If you truly love cars, GT5 is the game to own in this generation (The level of detail, like in the cars description, does what others don't seem to achieve).
-GT6 must be a much greater game.
But I think that the most important point, for me at least, is the fact that after 4 "A+" games and countless hours of fun, passion and excitement about automobiles, I, as a loyal (and optimist if you like) fan, can give GT another chance. I mean, after all, you'd have to be really crazy to catalogue GT5 as truly "bad" game.
As they say, you learn more from defeat than from victory, and I think that, with my previous experience in the series, GT5, besides from being, still, a great game, might teach PD a lot.
In a few words, don't be so hard on it, you know you still love it
, and GT6 should be awesome.
Anyway, just saying what I think as a loyal fan of the series. Back on the track, my CALSONIC GTR awaits.
By the way, sorry for my terrible english
