A new mod updated, locked thread for Kaz tweets?

Any chance of the above? I just went to the thread about Kaz Updates and finding out what he actually has said lately is like finding a needle in a haystack.

How about a mod opens up a new thread, stickys it, and locks it. Then whenever an actual tweet gets translated correctly in the other thread, pops it into the closed, readable thread.

That way the random debates can still rage on in the other thread, without making finding the actual information a task on a level with building the great pyramids.

Just me 2c :)

I don't see the benefit of that, when you could just become a fan of Kaz and check his twitter page every day...

You'd have to use an online translator of course.

What if you dont have twitter?

I think its a good idea 👍

It wouldn't have to be a mod job. In fact, it's probably better that it isn't, because it's not like they're short of things to do at the moment. Premium users can lock and unlock their own threads, so if a Premiumite does it no mod has to be involved bar stickying it.

Have you ever used an online translater for Japanese? It really is amazingly poor at the job. The the other thread, after 4 or 5 posts a real translation gets worked out by actual fluent speakers. That's why I say the mod would just wait for the translation, and pop it over into the "news reel" thread.

Even better. So long as its just one poster, posting the translations as they get worked out, it doesn't matter at all who does it :)

It would need to be stickyed though, regardless.

It would be a wonderful resource to have, but I think it would place an unreasonable burden on the staff - especially considering the availability of reliable human translations of his tweets is patchy at best. Also, tweets are tweets, and I don't consider his older comments valuable enough to be preserved in a sticky thread.

Ok Jordan. You're the boss :).

Any chance the mods could get a little more strict with the existing thread then? Right now there is around 10 pages of posts that have NOTHING to do with Kaz tweets. Instead they are debating the morals of duping.

A locked thread managed by a Premium user would work for what you're looking for. It doesn't even need to be stickied, anyone interested can just subscribe to it and they'll know whenever it's been updated. 👍
