OKay one of my friend has a good deal for a 1987 Mazda rx-7 in his hands.. But the only problem is that the engine has no compression and that results in no engine start so its kinda useless ..

I need help to find out why and how to fix it so my friend can get his own modified rx-7 ..

but mine is better ;)

.......

No compression is a sign of apex seal failure. Which probably means that it was being driven when the apex seals went out. Which can mean that the engine is damaged possibly beyond repair(if the seal broke, the pieces would be grinding around in the rotor housing causing grooves and eventually sent out the exhaust.

That means that you are looking for an engine. You could go used, since 2nd gen 13Bs were reliable, or a rebuild from Mazda. The rebuild from Mazda will cost I'd estimate from $2,500 to $3,500, depending on if it's a Turbo II or non-turbo.

Hope that helps.

There are also quite a few independent shops that do rebuilds, and that will often run under 2k. And once it's done, you'll have an engine in great shape.

Try RX7club, or Fc3s.org, to find a shop in your area.
