A Question about 320GB PS3

I have a quick question.
I have just brought a 320GB Slim PS3 and have noticed that the eject and power buttons don't light up. I know that both the 120GB and 160GB Slims have light up buttons. Do the buttons light up on the 320GB console or is it a problem with my console?

P.S. Sorry if this is in the wrong area.

Yes.

The Power and Eject buttons should like up with a small green led(if on) or red(if in standby) above the power and a blue above the eject if their is a disc inside when the unit is turned on
 
What about the buttons themselves? Should they light up white?

Yes they light up white, turn off the lights and close the blinds and see.

My Model is a CECH-2502B
 
OK, the buttons don't light up on my console. Is there are setting somewhere in the XMB to turn them on?
 
The most recent version of the PS3 slim doesn't have lights on the power or eject buttons.

Yes the LED's were removed to help reduce the amount of energy used. The power use went from 230watts to 200watts. So it's pretty friendly to your energy bill.
 
He must have a newer model than mine.

LED don't use 30W of power they use 1w even less for the SMD ones in the PS3 for power and eject as they are not powerful at all, i would think it is a cost cutting move.

This PS3 has already been in the news. I did not say LED's take 30watts of power. They changed the hardware in some way. There are no specifics on the internet on what they did on the internet as far as I can tell(That I can't find for 10 minutes anyways). I remember reading about it here and that the CPU and GPU chips were reduced in size but that's all I can remember in my faded memory.
 
I know the the CBE and the RSX are now made using a 45nm process for the CECH-3002B.
 
Wow perfect timing to read this, I'm getting a 320GB slim tomorrow and I probably would've freaked out after spending all my money if I didn't know this XD.
