I wasn't exactly sure where to post this, but I am pretty sure that someone who frequents the Motorsport section here at GTPlanet will be able to assist me.

While this question pertains to GT5, a friend and I are looking to make a race series that is based on the following real world racing leagues and governing agencies.

Perhaps my research skills are lacking there of, but I have failed to locate the exact specifications regarding the tire compound for the aforementioned series. When it comes to a real world race such as what is featured in the the Euro GT4 Cup, are there rules in place that define what the tire is outside of sizes?

I did find that certain class cars for the Nurburgring 24 require the use of street legal tires, but I am still unsure which tires the GT1 and GT4 series use? I speculate that they are racing tires, but to what level (IE - Hard, Medium, Soft).

Thanks in advance!:)

More often than not tire suppliers constantly change tire compounds to fit whatever track the series they supply will be racing next, there really isn't a set compound.

Most modern top-end race series will run slick tyres, so that translates to 'Racing Tyres' in Gran Turismo speak. The compound used will come down to how long the tyres are designed to last and/or the relative weight of the vehicle using them. If you are simulating endurance racing, which most LMP/GT-type racing is generally classed as, i would go for Racing Hard - as others have mentioned. 👍
