Am I right in thinking that my savegame is locked to my ps3 console or is it just locked to my account like most saves? I have a friend with a wheel and raceseat setup who's up for helping me get gold on the Nurburgring and Suzuka Vettel challenges. Could I just copy my save to usb drive and then log in to my account on his ps3 and then copy the save over, complete the challenges and then save it back to usb and reload it to my ps3? Or would I have to take my console round to his and do it that way due to the save lock?

Surely the first way is possible as it would otherwise mean if your ps3 died then you would have to start gt5 all over again as you couldnt load your backed up savegame onto your replacement machine. Sorry if this has already been brought up but I had a quick look and couldnt find an answer.

AFAIK, it's locked to your PSN account. So if you take the game-save on a USB drive over to a friend's house and login with your PSN and copy the file to the PS3, you should be in business, in theory. I've never tried this, but it won't have any negative effects if it doesn't work.

Ok thanks for the quick reply. Hopefully you're right.

Ok so finally gonna go ahead and do this later today but my mate brought up a good point we're not sure about. He has all the chromeline and stealth cars and we're not sure if when we load up my game it will add them to my game then make the save corrupt when I transfer it back to my ps3 because I dont have those cars.

I created a new account the other day to get a 67 birthday ticket and it immediately added the chromeline xj13 I got through facebook to the profile so I guess this could happen. On the other hand we're not starting a new game so hopefully it wont be an issue. Can anyone help me out here and tell me if this is likely to cause a problem?
