Hey guys, a quick question about my Canon G9:

When I turn the shutter speed down to 15 seconds ("15 shown on screen), why does my image turn all white? It seems that a slower shutter speed raises the exposure, is this normal?

Yes thats normal. in order to compensate for a longer shutter your aperture goes to a higher number (which makes the hole smaller) letting less light in. Basically if you adjust one you adjust the other to compensate. If you are shooting during the day 15 seconds is way too long to shoot without an ND filter which cuts the amount of light coming into the lens.

You're in luck too as the G9 has a built in ND filter too. You can also use a smaller aperture to lengthen exposure times.
