A real challenege.

Not sure if this is the right place for this but i want a real challenge. Im doing a-spec again and im wondering for a real challenge across different events, what percentage should i turn my engine down to make it really competitive between me and the ai? Should it go all the way down to 50%?

Also what tires should i use?

Really depends on you skills.

If you like to match the speed better to AI through corners, I would suggest using tires one or two tier below the AI. Somewhere in the forum is the AI's tire or you can use the replay as a guide. In general, comfort medium/soft for road car should give an average driver a good race if you use similar car.

If you like being overtaken and overtake AI on the corners, using the weakest AI opponent car and detune HP about 5-10% usually gives some challenge.

You can do both if your skills are up to par. Average driver like myself can't for most of these races.

You can also try to turn ABS, all aids plus HUD off.

As there is no PP restrictions in a spec is is difficult to judge. I think i could use the seasonal events as a guide. Ill play around with the settings in there.

You don't have to do anything, just choose a car from the Typical Opponents list (or something you think might be competitive) and drive it stock. Use comfort tires for anything under 300hp and sports for higher. Take all the aides off, even abs. Tune your brakes to roughly 2 front, 1 rear.

I don't downtune anything, I find it gets really boring to drive, I rather up tune if I need to.

The car type and hp is in the typical opponent list. You would not know the weight or downforce so assume it is stock.
The tire needs to be checked from replay. Downgrading the tire to me is the way to go as AI corners slower.

Lower power to competitive level & use standard cars with comfort soft/sports hard tyres. 👍

An even bigger challenge: "Spelling challenge correctly"

;) aha just kidding.
