Hello everyone

I'm new to gt5 online. I seem to keep getting kick from every room I join. I'm joining rooms with acceptable cars but I get kicked or disconnected. What I would like to know is if I'm not doing something right or is the online community really this bad.

Any help would be great. I just want to race around and meet a few people and have some fun. Isn't that what gaming about? By the way I'm a clean racer, won't wreck anyone one purpose, u less they deserve it.

are you downloading anything on your PC while trying to race?
 
No, just have the ps3 on. I feel something is up. This many people can't be idiots.
 
Most lickly that the community is bad. Just look for a good name for the room like "Clean Racers Only" and you should be fine. It might also be your connection and if it is then you might need to get a better one for better game play. Hope this helps.
 
I'm sure my connection is fine. I've had xbox live since it been out and never had any problems. I'm just surprised on the sheer ignorance of some.

As stated earlier I'm new to being online in gt5 and the ps3 in general. So I'm not sure if I was doing something wrong on my side.
 
Tell us exactly what you are doing. Then we can see if you are doing something wrong. Also try and go to a room that is hosted from someone in your country. Lots of people have kicked me out just because I wasn't from their country.

I realized that it could be an AUP violation :scared:
 
Make sure you set up a DMZ for your PS3 even if it says it has an Open NAT or if your router says it has UPnP. That has solved tons of problems I used to have.

Then again, it could be another person's connection.
 
I pick a room from my country, US, similar to what I'm driving. On the bottom of the screen it says enter course. I do that and sometimes it says free run. Either way I end up disconnected from the lobby.

Hope this is a better description.
 
Alright I'm going to unplug the network cable from the 360 and see if it's a wifi issue. I appreciate the help gem everyone.
 
If it says disconnected from the server then I am pretty sure it has something to do with your connection and the hosts connection.

Could you explain the DMZ bit. I'm not sure what you mean. Just hard wired the ps3 to see if the wifi is the problem. Thanks again for the help.

Can you enter a friend's lounge? Just you and him.
 
The problem is I'm new to ps3 and have no friends with gt5. I also tried the hardwire route and to no avail it seem to still get kicked.
 
Finally got online with a few. Don't k ow if it was a connection or just ignorant people.

Are you a bad racer?

Most of the times Bad racers (too fast in a corner, Bumping, crashing ect.) Get kicked out of a lobby. It might be that 0.o

Actually no I'm not a bad racer. I'm looking for a good room. I'm in one now and it's the first for gt5 I'm new to the online part of the game.

If you are connected trough an router, check this: The ULTIMATE ultimate guide to fixing your NAT

I had the same problem, got disconnected from 9 out of 10 lobbies, every time after around 1 minute.

No after i fixed the ports i have ZERO problems with online gaming. Ah, and it also fixed the lagging cars & i can now host races with a very good quality. 👍
