This morning at 1:30 I was sleep like most people are. I heard my fimilar ring on the cell phone (It's Lowrider). So I got up and said while I was half asleep Hello.

I heard "Joe this is Mike we have a problem."
I said "Mike? Oh Mad Dogg. Didn't know who you were. Whats up?"
Mike said "You know Chris?"
I said "VDubs?"
Mike said" Ya he's in bad shape here at the hospital."
I of course said " What the hell happened"
Mike said "Chris was out racing his Golf and well he lost control and flip his car into a lamp post. Jackie was with him to. They are both in critical care."
I no sooner heard that and I was into my clothes and out the door still on the phone with Mike.
I drove at fast as I could to the hospital with Mike still on the phone telling me what was going on.
I reached the waiting room were everyone was. Most of the car club was there. I saw Chris's mom to so I went over and gave her a hug.
Everyone filed me in on what had happened.
The president of our car club Kenny Jones aka Riceman Jones told me what had happened. It seems that Chris "VDubs" was racing a Mustang down a half mile strip on a back road. Then from what they can tell the right front tire blew out and he lost control of the car. They said that there 5 point safty harnesses maybe kept Chris and Jackie alive during the wreck.
I just got back about an hour ago from the hospital and it seems both of them are doing better. Chris has a broken arm, 3 broke ribs, a fractured foot, and 41 stiches closing alot of cuts. Jackie didn't get messed up to bad and broke her leg and a few fingers.
This just shows how dangerous street racing is. I was thanking God that Chris "VDubs" Survived that.

And in case you were wondering everyone in the car club has a nickname. Mine is "Spyderman" cause well thats what I drive.

what a dumbass, maybe now he will think twice about street racing.

i am sorry to hear about your friend though, but street racing can be deadly.

Hope he gets better...he shoulda known how to control a car with a flat. Even if he wasn't racing he should have known this before even getting his permit or license.

Like most unedjucated people, I bet when the tire blew out he slammed on the brakes, locked the tires up, slid and flipped. Happens all the time cause people are dumb.

What he shoulda done is just let of the gas, get the car stable, and then brake slowly to a stop.

But no, he screwed up and almost killed himself and a freind, and totalled his car.

Hate to say it, but a lot of the street racers aren't too smart when it comes to emergency procedures or safety...

That sucks. I dont do any Illegal Street Racing my self but I go and watch almost every weekend at Bull**** Corner (if you live in Calgary you know where this is). Those people are maniacs and I always park in a parking lot about 1/8 mile away from the action and walk because A: The people are always screeching out and possibly smashing cars, B: When the cops bust it up and try closing off the parking lot, people are peeling their cars out of their very fast and could hit mine, and C: When the cops do block the parking lot, I can just quietly walk away and get into my car down the block and the cops dont even notice me, and they are no where near where my car is parked.....

PS. Either your story is a little phony i.e You are Spyderman because you drive an Eclipse Syder and your friend is Vdubs because he drives a VW; or you guys are a bunch of hurtin' losers....Sorry man, it had to come out.

When you go fast enough, a blown tire usually means disaster no matter what you do to stop it.

Well that's the issue with street racing - there's no margin when something unexpected happens, and the whole point of driving on the street is about driving in a way as to give yourself margin.

I can't really say I feel sorry for your friend Chris, you know how I feel about streetracing...

First off, I'm sorry to hear about what happend to your friends, I hope they will come out of this OK.

Second, it's pretty stupid to street race, but it's even more stupid to race a Golf against a Mustang.

I don't feel bad for your friend, but I feel sorry for the girl who was with your friend.

Sorry to hear that StreetRacer.

Why the hell would the government make a law like that!? Crazy Government!

Not necessarily. It probably has something to do with the fact that extricating a person from a wreck is harder with a five-point harness.

Sorry to hear about your friend and his girl. I hope everyone involved learns a lesson from this.

I went to see them yesterday and they are both doing a lot better.

I know anything over a four point is illegal on the street but it possibly saved his life so I'm kinda glad he had it on. Me I only use a good old regular seat beat.

Chris has never been a good racer and always does stupid things (like race Mustangs in a Golf). Last time I had check under his hood he had a lot of mods. So I wouldn't have been surprised if he would have hurt him self at one time or another. Plus he runs ****ty tires thats most likly why it blew out. Who knows thats just what Chris told us. He could have just lost control on his own and doesn't want to amitt it. He also drinks a lot. He's a dumbass for doing that and he might have been drunk at the time. But I don't think he's that stupid.

And about or club names. We just joke around calling each other names like that. Its kinda one of those things were you had to be there to see what was going one. They start calling me Spyderman as a joke cause I'm the only crazy one to Convertable.
They called Chirs VDubs cause he the only one that would even think about driving that German ****. He also had 19" chrome rims on the car and at one of the car shows he was at some kid came up to him and said "I like your dubs". So we all laughed about that and thats also how his name kinda came to be. I could go on for awhile about our nicknames but to some it up its just something stupid we do.

They make 19" tires that suck? I am not questioning you at all, but all of the 19" tires I have seen are of pretty good quality like Pirrelli's or something.

Hey don't ask me. I'm not up in up in the tire world
