I really don't know what to say about this:

A Scanner Darkly - Trailer

A Scanner Darkly - Trailer 2

Helluva cast, huh?

"A Scanner Darkly" is set in suburban Orange County, California in a future where America has lost the war on drugs. When one reluctant undercover cop (Reeves) is ordered to start spying on his friends, he is launched on a paranoid journey into the absurd, where identities and loyalties are impossible to decode. It is a cautionary tale of drug use based on the novel by Philip K. Dick and his own experiences...

"Like a graphic novel come to life, 'A Scanner Darkly' will use live action photography overlaid with an advanced animation process (interpolated rotoscoping) to create a haunting, highly stylized vision of the future. The technology, first employed in Richard Linklater's 2001 film 'Waking Life', has evolved to produce even more emotional impact and detail."

So I guess this is the second "cartoonized" live-action movie?

I don't know, but I think it could be pretty damned good. It'll certainly score high on the weird scale, and weird is good.

A cool style of filming. It would only work once though, when they start mass producing movies this way it would become a corny gimmick.

agreed.

The only thing is Mr. Reeves, I have him type cast as Neo and I cant get rid of it, so every film I watch him in now is weird. :scared: so couple this with a weird type of film making and I think I would enjot it. :D
