A-Spec Points?

HI all, im new to this forum and im getting GT4 and a PS2 tomorrow!!!! :dopey: :dopey:

Bit while reading this forum in preparation of GT4 I was wondering, what are those A-Spec points everyone is talking about??

They unlock the Top Fuel Dragster for use on the Autumn Ring Mini.
 
if you earn 100,000 you get time portal capabilities :P
 
You all know damn well that ASpec points don't account for ****.
 
This has been talked about many times. I understand you're new, but next time use the search function. VTGT07 is right, they don't award or do anything.
 
yeah, searching would be helpful.

but on a related note... i thought up a nice idea for what they could have done with the a-spec points.
it would have been pretty cool if they'd used them as a prize money multiplyer.
example:
a 100 point race gets you 100% of the purse.
so in a race worth 15,000cr you'd get the full purse if you won at the 100 point level.
@ 200 points you'd net 200%, or 30,000cr
@ 10 points you'd net 10% or 1,500cr
etc..

granted that would have put a kink in the only purpose b-spec billy has in the game (making money).
 
Hey, that's a neat idea, but I think winning money would be too easy.

thats a pretty good idea, but if you had an even race (60 points) and just about won, you'd be pretty pissed off at having to lump ballast and Sports tyres on to make it the full winning
 
yeah... but that was the best idea i could come up with for something useful they could have actually done with the points.
suppose that idea would rest heavily on the the point value system being more "accurate" as a difficulty gague.
 
i think that the more A spec points you get, the better your cars become.

e.g. 100 A spec point = 100bhp more
 
Someone actually mentioned that a-spec does really do something. If I'm right it changes your racing helmet. I'll see if I can find the thread.

Depending on how many you have, it changes your racing suit and your helmet.
