A strange replay occurrence.

Hey, all. I just wanted to share an odd replay bug I found last night. Have any of you ever watched your replay after a race, and it didn't play, in any shape or form, how you drove? I was racing the Seattle Enduro yet again out of mere boredom and the beginning of the race was a tad slow because a Grand Sport 'Vette hit my tail at the first hair pin. After two laps I was in first place and the monotony set in until I finally won the race. I was in a Mustang SVT-R with a minuscule amount of tuning, somewhere in the realm of 380-410hp. Well, I was getting tired, but I checked out the replay out of mere habit...All right, well, it shows my car spin out from the 'Vette, all good there. At the second left turn, my car seems to get a jump in horsepower and just spin out, moving to a wall and flooring the gas to burn the tyres. This, I assure you, did not happen in the race. I sat there for about 5 minutes, just watching my car in the replay sit and force itself against a wall and smoke the tyres. Has anyone else had a similar occurrence? I searched for other glitches and came up with nothing.

Have a good day,
MidusGT

nahh, no clu, once my car kept going into light superspeed at 3bill+ and den somewone else would, and in the replay, one guy was like a roket ship in the air

No, that never happened to me. Sounds like a freak glitch...did you try watching again to see if it was just a one-time thing?

Yep, three times. :odd:

I've seen a couple posts about this kind of thing, and every one of them seems to be caused by a collision with an AI car.

Remember, it's not like a replay save is actually storing the replay. To save space, it simply stores what cars were in the race and how you drove. When you view the race, it's actually re-running the whole thing.

Here's a replay where I have a 227 MPH collision with the GT-One in the first corner of the first lap at Test Course. When I was actually playing, I simply bumped the GT-One and managed to maintain control, then won the race. If you look at the replay, when I hit the GT-One my F094/S goes airborne, lands backwards and starts driving down the course backwards, then hits another wall and goes airborne again, then gets stuck on a wall for a long time.

I've often heard thisis caused by the gameshark. It alters the dynamic memory of the game file. The biggest culprit is turning off tire wear.

Bad Batsu has some likely merit to his as well.

My question is, have you used a gameshark on the file save you were working from?

The only thing I have sharked is the JGTC Diablo GT. That would be really strange if Game Shark had had an effect so late in the game. I've had the Diablo for a good handful of months, but I certainly wouldn't rule it out. It just find it odd is all. Thanks for the input, too, BadBatsuMaru! Your experience seems quite similar to mine. Oh, well, it was no big deal, I just wanted to see if similar replays were out there. Thanks a lot, all!

This happened to me at Tokyo2, an ai car knocked me but i continued on in the radce but in the replay he knocked me and i was wedged against the wall. And ive never used a gameshark.

I think its from the computer replay viewer just has a little bug when AI cars hit you too hard or something, then it knocks you out of place. Shouldn't happen but it does.

No. I don't have a gameshark and I've never used one. That's a replay from a 100% legit game.

It does not just happen with a collision with the AI.

I had this happen to me when I was doing the IA test with the Zonda at the Rome Course. Everything was fine when I ran it & everything was fine when I watched the replay. But the preview that plays on the screen where your options are: Start, Replay, Settings, Options, & Exit; was totally messed up. The car would smash into the wall on the first right turn & was never even close to decent driving from then on.

I think that the replays save your controller movements, not the actual run. So, if you were to turn right exactly 31.6 seconds into lap 3 or something like that, & you watched a messed up replay that had the car stuck on the wall or going the wrong way, it should still turn right exactly 31.6 seconds into lap 3 if it is stuck on the wall or not.

I'm not sure. But the movements of the controller & gas/brake pedals seem to match the track even when the replay is screwed.

I've seen this happen on Super Mario Kart too.

It happened once to me. Not sure what happen, but if you used a gameshark code that may have soemthing to do with it. I used the money cheat, since getting the game to over 90% done 4 times is boring, and it happen. It showed a completely different car, I was racing in a Skyline R33 and it showed me in a Mini Cooper. Which wasn't even in the race. Its fookered up.

What are you saying? I find it hard to believe that someone with the experience to get 90% complete 4 times would need to use a cheat to get money. It's pretty easy to get through the beginner league without having to repeat races for money.

yeah, i was raceing @ tokyo once in my rx7-rz and the replay showed me stuck on a wall for 2 laps where i clearly didnt. I had actually blitzed the race (this was before i saw the light (less hp = more challenge)). :)

Hmmm, i have had this game since july10 2001(Relase date in america) and none of these things ever happened to me...

I have seen similar incidents - they're pretty rare. I don't use a Gameshark.

Are you sure? When was the last time you watched a Test Course replay that involved a hard collision with the AI?

I've never had the replays show something wrong either...I've had my GT3 game since September 2001, I think, and I have not seen any screw-ups in my replays. Maybe it depends on what version of GT3 you have...Just a thought,I could be totally wrong!

That happened to me in GT2. I'd totally forgotten about it. It's pretty weird when you're like "umm... that didn't happen :odd: "

Happened to me too, with the Suzuki Escudo Blablabla. It happened at Cote d'Azur, in Arcade mode. It got through the first turn, and just before the second one, it suddenly drove to the left and got stuck to the wall, doing all the moves I made in the race. :odd:

ive had this problem but waaaaaay b4 i got my xport so i dont think that is the cause but like batsu said they always seem to be after a collision the last time it happened to me was about a year ago not long after i got the game and i too was racing on seattle it at the big round hairpin which i find almost impossible to drift:irked: (ill try again 2nite in my fc3s infiniti 3)i got a bump frfom another car round that bend on about the second lapand i went on to win the race nicely leading all the way there in a vette gs with bout 700hp:D (at this time i couldnt give a flying fark about fair racing but now ive changed i hate beating the competition into the ground) and the replay showed me getting bumped and then spinning out while 5 ai cars passed by and then it got stuck driving into a wall for about 8 minutes when finally it was smacked out by another car and then it just carried on to come in 6th?!?!?:irked:  :odd:

Once I was racing in Seattle with a Mustang and everything went fine, but on the replay a Camaro driven by AI got stuck on the wall on top of the hill, after you go uphll on the course. The Camaro stayed there for a good 2 laps, smoking its tires, until it finally slipped off... That Camaro had actually finifhed 3rd in the actual race.
