Could it be implemented for people to edit OP's other than yourself? I would find this useful if you're running a series with someone online but cannot access the PC for whatever reason, could you allow the person you're running the series with to edit it on your behalf? Obviously this is currently not possible at the moment but could it be implemented in the future?

I don't know but I think that that system could be abused because if that person disagreed with you on something they could just erase the whole post. Good idea though. 👍

That's true, but if you are running that series then surely you should have enough trust in them?

Im assuming you would be able to control who could change it not just some random.

If so yes I would like this too.

Good point. If that's the case, I have to say that this is a great idea.

Yes, select it a bit like PM system whereby you type in the name of the person you would like to have control and hey presto! :)

In that case, everyone will have to be a moderator.

Ideally, you would want a selection of people to be allowed to edit your own posts. I can't see it happening, though.

I think the chances of this happening fall somewhere between 'fat' and 'slim' :D

Seriously though, whilst it may provide ease in limited situations, the potential for abuse is huge. Besides, how comfortable are you really with someone else posting content under your name?

Um, Boy?

I don't want to sound like a hypocrite, but this is a bad idea. Couldn't someone wait a few hours/days for the Original Post(er) to update, when ready?

I see where the logic here is but not only is there a chance of abusing the ability, I imagine that it would be quite difficult to implement and there are probably some more obvious issues to tend to rather than this :)

Yes but abusing people would be altered so you could stop said person from doing it.

Also I am sure the Mods would see who did it if it was anti AUP.

But I do understand that there are more importand things to do with the site.

I can see where this would be useful in certain types of threads, but such functionality is not currently supported by the forum software.

Do quotes auto edit if the content in the quoted post is edited?
If yes, you could quote a post from your Co organizer and when they are updating for you they just updated the post you have quoted in the original post.
Just a thoughts I had. I rent a server for bf3 and area members here have admin control. I was thinking of starting a thread in our group here with relevant info. I thought this would be a good way to have my admins keep the thread updated if theychange any server settings.

Another work around is make sure your friend gets the second post of your thread. This way any updates they do would at least be in the second post.

No, hence why if someone pummels the AUP the staff would very much appreciate you not quoting it.

Again, all of these suggestions have their merit but if the forum software isn't capable of implementing it, it's not terribly worth discussing, is it?

I didn't think it would for those reasons. I wouldn't quote an AUP pummeling post. Just doesn't seem bright ;)
I have been a member of another forum for about ten years now without ever needing a warning, I don't think you will have to worry about me. I even requested a name change from another forum I was very active I was very active in years ago. It started small, but as it grew it was becoming more mature, similar to what gtp is with its AUP. I figured P.huct wasn't appropriate anymore ;)
