JordanWow, looks like the FIA has done a great job of slowing the cars down, and reducing cost! Twice as much R&D and the cars go just as fast! Stupid.![]()
Terrible. It sounds like a four banger gasping for air. Bleh!Omnishow's the exhaust note? that's what I want to know.
GilesGuthrieToyota, Honda, Mercedes, Ferrari and BMW have now all track-tested V8s. Cosworth have been extensively bench-testing theirs, but at the moment don't have a partner to run it.
I think even the slowest of them is doing 21,000 rpm.
JacksI thought cosworth were sticking to a V10 and restricting its output to match the V8's. Thats what it said on F1 ITV.
EDIT: err...nope i'm wrong http://www.cosworth.com/downloads/c...pg?PHPSESSID=dd271a6e8073a05a746de26d7c10a77c
kenseiMinardi could run this years engine next year and still be 3 seconds off the pace.

BlakeCosworth said not long ago that their engine is pulling well over 700 BHP at over 21,000 RPM. Also from what I've heard the engine tone isn't too much different.

Well that sounds kinda the power output I expected, I mean the engines currently get over 300HP per litre, 300 x 2.4 = 720 BHP. So I'm thinking they'll be pulling 730-740 ish BHP by season start.VashTheStampedeSounds like Cosworth might have a half way decent engine then; though having not heard of anything about the power of the other cars, its kinda hard to tell. I would bet that the engine note is more pitchy/screamy than the V10s, being that they are of smaller displacement and running more revs.
