This thread is to have signups and give some time for testing on the upcoming New Years Rally which will be held at the start of the new year. At the start of the rally, I will announce the stages, and how they will be run as well as the due date (I am leaning towards January 10th, unless there is more time needed)

The testing is unlimited, but the rally should give you a total of just over an hour of straight racing, so the actual race is not time consuming (You only run this once, more on that later)

The rules for this rally are a bit weird so they are throughly explained below.

1. Choose your car from one of the following rally cars available in GT3. Unless there is more interest, there will be one car allowed to run at a time, so they are first come first serve basis. This is being run on two boards so I will be updating who get's what car.

(No power modifications are allowed and ASM and TCS shall be set to zero)

***Bolded Cars Are Taken***

Citroen Xsara Rally Car
Ford Escort Rally Car
Ford Focus Rally Car
Lancia Delta Integrale Rally Car
Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VII Rally Car
Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI Rally Car
Peugeot 206 Rally Car Subaru Impreza Rally Car
Subaru Impreza Rally Car
Subaru Impreza Rally Car Prototype
Toyota Celica Rally Car
Toyota Corolla Rally Car

2. Take your car and during this testing period, develop tarmac and dirt settings.
- You are allowed unlimited runs for testing purpose
- You may only test your car on:
- Apricot Hill (forward and reverse) for tarmac settings
- Smokey Mountain (forward and reverse)for dirt settings
- You may give unlimited oil changes during testing
- Any tire compound is available, but on some stages a different compound could benifit, so please, try as many as you think you will use in the rally.
- Practice your handbrake turning skills
- Practice overall car control on pavement and dirt

3. At the end of the test session, the rally stages will be posted on the January 1st of 2004. You are allowed ONE (1) single run through each stage, if you screw up, you screwed up, keep going.
- The dirt rally stages will be run in arcade mode, easy difficulty. You are only counting your first lap, so your time for each stage will include a standing start. You do not need to run the remaining laps, if you want to... go ahead the spectators would love to see you pass again.
- Some tarmac stages will be run in an odd fashion in free run mode.
Example: Go into free run, start at full speed like normal,
once you pass the finish line to start your time, you must turn into the pits when you come to the exit (or entrance if the stage is run in reverse) and drive through them. When you exit the pit, return back to the normal route of the lap. When you reach the finish line after your lap, record your total time (one lap, plus one pit lap)
- The remaining tarmac stages will be run in arcade mode like the dirt stages.
- On tarmac courses, corner cutting is not only allowed, but encouraged to try and get the lowest time possible.
- Keep track of your total lap time and sectors of the your stage via watching replays
- Try to stay clear of the AI car(s) (when aplicable) and do not use them as an advantage
- Do not ride walls

4. There will be a total of fourteen stages run, some stages can be run twice or in reverse. Your total time will be sum of all stage times.
- You have two (2) overhaul service times, the services are between stages 6&7 11&12. These service areas consit of complete overhauls of settings/tires, an oil change and car wash if you like.
- There is one limited service area between stages 3 and 4 where you may only change your tire compound and gear ratios.
- As a reminder, you are running each stage once and ONLY once, and in order.

5. Prizes!!!
- There are none, you get a pat on the back if you win. However, you should have tons of fun while running this rally.
