Out of curiosity and boredom I looked through the GTP member list and found out a very sad fact. As of November 14th, 2003 10:07PM Arizona time GTP has 10,560 members. now taking away the members that joined this month that gives us 10,400. out of the 10,400 members that have been here longer than a month only 4,793 have made atleast 1 post since joining more than a month ago. meaning that 5,607 members have not mad atleast 1 post since joining more than a month ago! Alot have made only 1 post since joining over a year ago! that means 46.09% of gtp is "active" and active is a severe understatment. Is there any way these people can be deleted? I can make a list.

No there isn't and there is no point either - they don't take up much space apart from taking up usernames...

No, because most of those people actually look at the website you know. I knew someone that looked here everyday but never posted. Heaps of people do that. Plus, it would free up about 1MB if you deleted all of them anyway. It would be unfair to those people. So...did you bother to search about this 0 post issue? It's been discussed a lot you know. ;)

do you know how many members named civc(insert crap here) we have? I could have been skylineGTR instead of the having to throw in the _guy thing. that ass (skylineGTR) joined in 2001 and made 2 posts so far why force all these stupid names? IF all they wan't to do is read the stupid posts then why did they have to sign up? you can see it without joining. The only thing missing is the attached images but I highly doubt over 5000 people signed up just so they can see pictures. If they truly care they'll sign up again. Just email them all using one of those mass email programs asking them if they wish to continue participating in GTP. Hell I'll do it out of sheer boredom.

Oh and yes i did use the search button but my topic has statistics AND a % so :p

why should I be original because some non participating user took it first? I don't wan't an original one. My name has a reason, incase you don't know it's because evry other work out of my mouth is sklyine related.

eh its not all that bad all the time. when i first signed up i made one post and didnt come back for about a month and a half. now i post severeal times a day at least.

This has been discussed countless times before. No accounts will be deleted, it is senseless and counterproductive.

just to add to this, most of the with birthdays today are registered over 2 years ago and havent made a post;)

One of the most useful things that you get by registering is a 'memory' of what threads you've already read and what threads are new. I lurk on several groups and just register for that reason.
Pictures is also a big thing, I reckon 75% of the threads in the 'rumours and speculation' forum would be based around pictures.

Oh yes I forgot about that, see - I'm not a cool admin like yourself.

How would you know about that checkbox? :odd:

A follow up on this (since I am one of the ones who brought it up a long time ago.)

There honestly is no good reason to delete the accounts. It becomes a matter of 'purity' in the community which is not necassary. The steps required to ensure that you do not delete accounts that are still being used are excessive.

I'd like to clean them out too, but there's just no good way to accomplish it.

For all of you that actually looked up all this statistic crap, might I suggest getting out more often? Just a friendly piece of advice. I envy you if this is the worst of your worries

It was more boredom than anything else, it only took like a minute to figure out, its just basic math.

i have no idea when GTC & GT4 is comming out or if there will be new exotic cars to choose from like in project gotham racing 2 for xbox... if you could help that would be great thanks....

Why not just put up a notice that everyone will need to re-register. People who don't come here anymore will not be back, and those who read messages will!

that would be a pretty good idea. if it's been a year and there's no posts then it means they don't use the forum. that's some good thinking
