Ask me.
Oh dear, it's Italian, and yes it does have electrical problems.

You might (probably not, it was years ago) remember my thread about an MX5 I had, well. Long story short, I could never afford to insure that so I had to sell it on. So, I ended up buying a Seat Ibiza, which I wrote off into another car. I've been so busy with work and studying which is why I haven't been round here in ages; but I've got a bit of free time nowadays. SO, I had a week to buy a car or I would have to pay my insurance even though I had no car on the policy. Bear in mind that I'm a skint student that works part time, so I found an 05 Plate Active Sport Punto for £700 with 92,000 miles. I was sold. Sure enough I know they have their electrical problems but after a test drive I could only hear and notice a whirring wheel bearing. Anyway, I bought the car, and on the way home the power steering cut out (electric power steering yay!) and it hasn't come back on since. Eh well, makes it feel like a race car anyway. Well, until I'm parking up at tesco and my arms turn to jelly.

Oh, and because I'm 17, I've put my own touch on it, which is probably not a good idea, as I should just save up for something better but oh well.

Mods:
ASH induction kit
Autoglym seat cover
40mm bored out throttle body
788 Hot Cam from a Punto 75
Cherry Bomb exhaust (don't ask)
Fly Eye tinted headlights
Gates Racing timing belt
Pressed Plates
De-scrub stripped
Wind deflectors
Lowered 50mm on eBay springs
Plastidipped wheels (gonna go back silver though)
OMP racing wheel/boss kit
OMP seatbelt covers
OMP tow strap (not on the car, but it'll come in handy when it eventually breaks down.)
Titanium gear knob
Rear Dewiper
Plastidipped badges
Economy tyres that actually feel like I'm driving on comfort hards

It came out of the factory with 60bhp and I highly doubt it has anywhere near that anymore, but it is quicker than my mates 16v Clio

Anyway, enough babbling, I'm gonna show you some pictures now:

Don't really know what else to say, I'll probably add a shot of the engine bay soon, not that it's anything special. I'll keep you guys updated 👍

Since owning a Panda 100HP I have a soft spot for Fiats, and Puntos have always been nice looking cars.

I'd not be inclined to spend too much more on it at 17 - and if I did, it'd be on a decent set of tyres - but what you've done so far looks relatively tasteful to me 👍

Does your insurance know about those mods? I could never get insured for any mods like that on my Panda and I'm 17 too. :scared:

Regardless, I'm liking what you've done with it!

I've always had a soft spot for Punto's. Looks great!

Cheers they don't deserve all the hate they get really

Thanks bud 👍

I was actually looking at 100hp Pandas, apparently they're extremely fun to drive, and of course, they're turbo'd.

I was toying with the idea of 17's but that money could go towards another car. You're looking at £400 before tyres (OZ Comps) and then I don't wanna skimp on tyres again, way too many dicey situations have been had with the tyres I've got on already.

Yeah I've had to tell them, luckily they're not too harsh but still, my insurance has gone up a fair bit
I've seen your Panda, and that's the colour I'd ideally want my punto to be, that electric blue is very cool!

Who are you with, if you don't mind me asking? Might have to shop around again with mine...

It is indeed! I've only seen one other Panda in the same colour so far. Even the paint shop who painted my replacement fuel door couldn't match the colour, although that might also be down to their laziness.

They are.

They aren't ;) The 100HP has a naturally-aspirated 1.4.

There's me getting confused with the 500 Abarth :( Either way, I'd have one in a heartbeat.

Adrian Flux, they were a bit more than other insurers, but I knew I was going to do a few mods, which they're way more relaxed with compared to other companies.

Update:

I woke up yesterday for my mum to tell me that my step dad had reversed into my car with the pick up truck. The tow bar has cracked the bumper badly, it's not like the car isn't bright enough to see!

Anyway, after the trauma (lol) I decided to order myself some pressed plates. I ordered a square one for the front and I kinda want to mount it like an Evo, I'll play around with it and see what results I get. As for the cracked bumper, I'm not really sure, maybe plastic welding it is a viable option but I'll have to see!

The plates I ordered finally came, going to mount the front one here until I get the bumper fixed. To be honest I kinda like it there

Definitely needs a front splitter now though.
