I've been criticising these losers since the Levy thing where they claimed they searched Rock Creek Park, then months later a jogger comes up with Levy's remains. - the jogger should be promoted to fackin' chief.

Point is, they're incompetent. Anyway, these shootings have baffled them, naturally, and the chief refuses to talk in detail about anything. It's sad.

This whole thread was posted for three reasons - to inform, for discussion, and as a call to MazKid:

I know you're sad about that, MazKid, it's the latest victim's car. By the way, six are dead and two others are badly hurt, including a middle schooler and a woman with a Sienna who got the number one parking space at Michael's. She was released from the hospital Tuesday, though.

I must ask if it was absolutely necessary to show that blood smeared silver people mover at the service station in such graphic detail - the news is getting pretty close to needing to carry an 'M' rating.

What are you talking about, vat?

you didn't see the shot of the silver minivan with the door painted in blood?

this is pretty scary for anyone in that area... i hope they find him (them?) pretty soon.

Oh - the TV footage from the first day this guy started shooting - there was footage from a helicopter of a silver people mover (van) parked at a service station that one of the victims was hit at - they zoomed in and there was a lot of blood smeared over the right hand side front door and on the ground - I really don't need to see that over breakfast.

Did you hear about the tarrot card and the .223 casing the DC police department found?

On the tarrot card was written, "Dear police man, I am god."

I would guess that releasing too much information to the public might compromise the search for the killer.

If there were specific details and common traits to each of the crime scenes, then telling 280 million people what they are just might cause the actual killer to alter his criminal pattern.

If I'm not mistaken, then the crimes have actually occurred in 3 separate jurisdictions; Maryland, the District of Colombia, and Virginia. Hopefully the best and brightest are working with the FBI on this one.

But this guy (and hopefully, it is only one) must be caught...one scary mofo.

Agreed. I was having my breakfast when I saw that :(

Sad really. Headshots hurt. He must also be a good sniper because the rifle can apparently shoot from 100 metres away. FFS GET SOME ****IN HELICOPTERS FLYING AROUND DC!

A town here in Connecticut, Sharaton, planned a trip to DC. they cancelled thier trip but we are still going as of now. I'm gonna be there october 22-25.

I think it's rather unfair to bemoan a police force over vary different crimes.

The footage was raw, and there is some positive aspect to this, chill the kids into seeing what can happen if they are reckless, and misinterpret films.

And make positively sane kids spew up over their toast...

Yeah - if it's any consolation (it was for me), the van with the blood smeared all over it, which would usually indicate a parent with a few children, was not the victim. Instead, it was a taxi driver at the next stall who fell over on the van. Still extremely saddening

the taxi drivers family was interviewed recently on On the Record. Indian immigrants. I would guess he was a first or second by the accents of the brother and mother.

One of the local newspapers around here actually showed a picture of that dead lady that was sitting on that bench in front of a store covered up with a bloody sheet with her arm hanging out the side with blood splattered around.

Now THAT was disturbing!
