Ability to set deadzones for thumbsticks for Dual Shock 3 users

Hello, i would be able to set deadzones for both my thumbsticks (im using left to steer and right as gas only FYI).
It would give me much better sense in handling the car especially for the gas "pedal".

Even Ace Combat 2 could do that. On PS1 in year 1997! (GT1 has been released that year too.)
 
why the hell do you need this, I swear a deadzone is a bad thing?
 
I don't understand what deadzone means... and don't really care for it.
