you can only get to race race bikes in 2player mode, which kinda sucks, it's same in US version. must be a moral thing, dont want to encourage you to be racing your mates on your street bikes.

Somehow that doesn't make sense as they allow you to race your friends in cars in the GT series. Heck I raced my sister in the 1 hp benzes around the oval.

It’s because the street-bikes have greater detail (including reflecting mirrors, complex lights, turn signals etc.) Hence, four bike fields are possible with RM-bikes, though street-bike racing is limited to two bikes. Makes sense that the reduced detail 2 player mode utilises bikes that minimise the burden on the processor.

well we're lucky that we are still getting better quality games, especially considering how old the PS2 chip is. we could be still playing GT3 graphics, but PD and SCEA want to make sure we get quality games. so, due to that, we can hve less vehicles on the track...so what? TT is still going to be an amazing game.
