I can tell you now, the Logitech's foot pedal resolution turns me off completely.
Looks like somebody has been watching inside sim racing, since that is their biggest complaint over the G920 wheel. And is 100% a none issue!
If it was an issue, there is no way I would be able to drive both of those cars with ABS/TCS/STM turned off.
i want to buy this game and a better wheel.Thrustmaster or g920? which is better
I have owned both, and I can tell you that the Thrustmaster feels better because of the brushless motors and belt driven force feedback. But their reliability sucks. My TX wheel burnt out after 6 months of use, when I contacted Thrustmaster hoping to get it repaired, they refused and told me to go to the point of sale. Thankfully that was Amazon, who sent out a replacement and a courier at their own expense to pick up the dead wheel. Unfortunately the new wheel was dead on arrival. I got a refund, and the money went on a Nvidia GTX780 graphics card for my PC instead.
Roll on to the G920 wheel. And been honest here, I am on my second wheel. The issue I had, was the right paddle shifter was registering twice; on the down press as it should, and when letting it go. This would cause a jump of 2 up shifts instead of one. Logitech do not have a UK service center (but then neither do Thrustmaster), but Logitech where honest and upfront about this. They also sent me to the point of sale, but only because it was still under a years retail warranty at the store where it was purchased. In the UK we have a year at the point of sale, and 2 years manufacturer from date of purchase. Logitech where vastly more helpful than my experience with Thrustmaster.
There is a far lower frequency of G920 wheels going belly up however, and Logitech are known for their reliability with regards to racing wheels. The G27 and G25 are thought off as almost bullet proof in this regard, much the same as the DFGT.
There have been some cases of wires breaking free inside the G920 though, so something to be mindful off. But they are very infrequent, and no way near the amount of TX wheels that have burnt up to the point of emitting that tell tale electrical burning smell.
Even now, there are reports of TX wheel's burning up like that. Kind of bad, especially when you think of how long the TX wheel has been on sale now.
The TX wheel does have better driver support on pc though, the G920 is a little lax on that front. Though the only game I has issues setting it up with, was Assetto Corsa, which requires a few work a rounds (should not be an issue on the Xbox version, it pertains to the Logitech software for the G920 wheel on PC). Pcars, Grids 1 through autosport, F1 2013 through to 2015, RaceRoom, Dirt Rally, the Crew, and even the new need for speed game work flawlessly with the G920 wheel (the last one surprises but pleases me).
The TX wheel will cost more also, as you need to buy a set of pedals with clutch (around £100 for the cheapest 3 pedal set), and even though the TH8A shifter has excellent build quality, it costs around £120 new.
The G920 comes with a clutch pedal in the box, and the shifter is only an additional £50. If you have a G27 to hand, then the shifter for it will work with the G920 in both Forza (5 and 6, plus Horizon 2) and on the PC.
Hope this helps.
