In GT3, if you're driving 250km/h / 155 mph + it dosn't really feel like you're going that fast....

They only vehicles that look like they're going really fast are the F1's imo...maybe because they corner so well?

Is it possible that in GT4 it would actually look like you're really pushing it to the limit? Atleast I hope so...

Yes that's true, many friends of mine dont like GT3 because it seems abit slow paced. I do hope they can speed it up abit, but I'm sure that the people who really like GT3 won't care much if this doesn't happen. I would like it to happen so that I can get some friends into playing GT4... but with the online possibility, I don't really find it absolutely necessary. Just as long as they don't slow it down more!!

The problem with that is the speeds in GT4 will be exact to real life, i.e it takes the same time to cover a distance at a certain speed in both real life and the game, if you want to feel like your going faster drive close to the barriers.

Like, if I'm going 200..I dont want to be able to fully see the trees next to me. I want them to be a green blurr..I dont want to be able to see every leaf at 200. At 10, ok, but not at 200+..

If you want mad speed then you want one of the arcadey racers like Auto Modellista, Need For Speed, Burnout or Midnight Club. Its hard to get the insane speed rush without sacrificing graphic quality or gameplay.

u could have at least mentioned a decent game ;)
burnout 2s good though.

Even if the distances are realistic there isn't a good sensation of speed when compared to the real thing. Maybe its the lack of decent engine noises & the fact all the tracks are wide & zzz but hopefully GT4 will fix that. :)

And the lack of G-force.

/runs off and patents Dual Shock helmets for GT4 fans (I bet there is already some  )

Umm what happens if you playing a flying game and you hit G's that the human body can't take, does it knock you out?

I hadn't played GT2 (or GT1) in awhile before I got GT3 so I didn't notice the "slow-down" at all.
When I played GT1 a few months later I was like "Whoa! How the hell fast am I going?" When I looked at the speedometer I was barely doing 125 mph, and 125 mph in GT3 doesn't look that fast.
You only get a true sense of speed in GT3 until you reach like 180 mph, I'm perfectly fine with that anyways. :)

I agree. In GT1, the speeds looked realistic. You can feel how fast you are going. In GT2 and GT3, the speeds look slower, and don't look as realistic. GT1 had a good sense of what the speed looks like in real life. I'm not disgruntled by the fact that GT3 doesn't look very fast, though.

I went along the barrier on the test track in the escudo.....when you hit 300mph it does look insanely fast....
:)

do the wheelie trick and see how fast that looks

Going 200+ mph in real life is a bloody scary thing. Wind noise, vibration, little bumps feel like chasms...........that sort of thing is impossible to recreate in a video game. I think GT3's interpretation of speed is nearly spot on. It's just that if you take away the visceral impact of the speed, it seems slow. GT1 was way faster than reality.

Another factor is danger, in real life it's dangerous. In GT3/4 you can hit a wall at 180 mph and live lol.

/me crosses his fingers for real time damage in GT5, HEY! I wanna write my RUF off!

i think its also got something to do with the way the gt engine interprets distance, the tracks always seem so wide until you hit a barrier and find they aint really that wide.:odd:

Yeah I find the speed sense not quite right, like when your going say 60Kph it feels so much slower but I really don't mind it but would be a good additon to GT4 either way.
