Does anyone notice that the GT40 and everything else is not CG? It's rendered poly's, just recorded.

I'm thinking, and hoping, that this the original car model before they were toned down for GT4.

If you look you can tell the difference, and you can tell this is running on a similar engine to GT4, just on a machine with much more power, then it was captured, coded and put on this disc...but damn it's sexy wouldn't you say?

Anyway...it would be my guess that the car models in GT5 (as much as I don't want to talk about it, lol) will look similar to this...and that is not a problem by me, lol.

The Ford GT was rendered CGI, although some of the backdrops may have been from the game. I've been doing CGI for years, I can spot the differences between game and render in a heartbeat. :)

Everything after the GT, though... that's all in-game, although it appears to have motion-blur added, which I'm kind of disappointed didn't make it into the game itself.

Not arguing, but I'm pretty sure that is the same engine as GT4, just beefed up to hell. look at all the treets, etc. They are all extremely similar to the renders in GT4. It's also very easy to spot the differences between CG and In game, just look at Tekken 4 for instance. It used the same engine for it's endings, on a beefed up scale, then they were captured to video and used for the ending sequences.

I'm pretty sure this is not Pre-Rendered, but more running on an engine, in fact I'd put money on it.

**edit** you have to see it in real life, because the download version is low qual. in comparison, once you see it on TV from the PS2 you'll see what I'm talking about.

Yes, that's very true.. compression does tend to ruin stuff like that quite a bit. I'll have to wait for the American release to see it in person, though. We shall continue the discussion then.. hehe. :)
