Didn't think you could. I know you can't in the NASCAR special as somehow the car was a little quicker. I've always left it on 1 anyway lol

haha exactly what I was trying to do.

Try ABS-10 for NASCAR. No ABS would slow down the car more wouldn't it? You need maximum speed all the time and braking just a little with no ABS will make the car slow down more than you would like. ABS-10 = gentle.

You don't brake enough in the NASCAR special events, especially in the last lap challenge having abs off seems to give a bit more speed

You can turn off ABS in the in-race RA options.
This is the same option menu where you can set up your Brake Balance.

In the pre-race screen click on Driving Options
You can set/or turn off Driving line, traction control, skid force, ASM,ABS, steering sensitivity

Everything on the special event is off except ABS and the lowest you can put that to is 0.

I'll never get gold on the last NASCAR special event either... Will downgrading bring back the option to turn it off?

I did it with the ABS on 1, after the patch. Spend less time crying over it, and do it.

it can be done....
follow the car on the right...watch out for the car on the left because it will come your way and often hit you...even in the back it is race over...when you manage to pass it try to make a good first turn...when you get your time it should be lower than 2 seconds...if it's above..restart...
the car you are following will get some distance but if you are under 2 seconds you will catch up....when you get back to the group it's up to your drivingskills to pass without getting hit or hit.(sometimes you have to brake... yes..nascars have brakes too )it is trial and error..keep an eye on the car you followed from the beginning ..it's the car that will keep pulling you as far as possible...when you get behind the leaders it's all in your hands....

The Nascar challenge you can not turn it off anymore.

You could before the worse update to ever hit GT5 was released.

I am talking about 1.06.

It did more than disable the option to turn off ABS in NASCAR but it also replacedthe Toscan Lamborghini track with a crummy one.

The nascar events are pretty easy with ABS 10 and that toscana event is made easy by turning up the brightness/contrast on your TV

I thought the point about turning off the ABS in the NASCAR events was that it stopped the forced ASM from interfering with your driving. The ABS itself doesn't really affect the events though.

Ha, brake early and drive smoothly, then its a easy win.

If you are not right behind/infront of the F40 at the top of the beginning of the downhill straight, it might not be easy, but still doable. (You will know )

Won by 4 seconds on my golding of it ;)

I got it before they changed it.
Just look how fun this track is.

I was just thinking for the quick drafting events. Or all they all about drafting? :| It's been a long time since I tried them.

Oh yea. It depends on the event/race. I THINK. lol I really just have to look at the events again.
